Opinion: Nintendo's failure is EA's fault

Nintendo Wii U isn't selling as much as expected, reasons may be idiots that think Nintendo is too "kiddie" or Nintendo isn't trying but none of these is true. It was kinda Nintendo's fault for this because of the direction they took.

Nintendo's problem is that it needs third party support, sure it's great to see big releases like Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Watch Dogs and (I think) Call of Duty: Ghosts make they way to Wii U which is nice. Grand Theft Auto V, Metel gear Solid V and Saints Row IV are three big non-EA games not coming to Wii U and it's a bit of hit for Nintendo not seeing these games but then again nome of these three franchises have really been on Nintendo's consoles so Nintendo gamers should not complain too much here. However there is one company that is most to blame for this.

EA are releasing none of their games this year on Wii U, not even the sports games, is this deliberate or what, do you want them to fail or something. It's come to fact that EA are punching Nintendo in the face, the biggest third party publisher team has decided that Wii U is not a console and they ignore it, same with the 3DS. They hate Nintendo, it's so obvious at this point.

You thought Battlefield 4 is coming to Wii U, well think again, it's not because they want to play it safe, wait, you could try to get some Nintendo fans into the games and is going to cost that much money hmmm, no so what's the secret reason, want Nintendo to fail hey. Something not's right with your reason here.

Oh guess what, EA's brand new Frostbite engine isn't designed for Wii U, we know why. But it can run on less powerful consoles fine, good work EA. Sorry Need for Speed Nintendo fans, Need for Speed: Rivals will only be on rival consoles.

No Star Wars games for Nintendo fans as well, meaning that the next Star Wars trilogy games will not be on Wii U, nor battlefront, this is one I hate because a lot of Nintendo fans like Star Wars and like their games, the force is being pushed away from the Wii U.

Worst of all has to be EA Spots, FIFA 14, NBA Live 14, NFL 14 and any other EA Sport game will be skipping this year meaning Nintendo have no sports simulators for their consoles that is up to date, this is horrible, how are they going to get good sports games on their console, sports is a very important type of game because so many people love sport and need games based on their favorite sport.

Overall EA is most to blame for Nintendo failing if they do fail, there's more than enough evidence that they hate Nintendo and the Wii U and from what I heard, EA make really good games. This is Nintendo missing out on so much games because of one company dislikes them. It's outrangous. EA just get along with Nintendo.

when i think of rabid nintendo fanboys, this topic is what i imagine

EA is lazy porting FrostBite engine to Wii U and I bought a PS4 for other games wasn't on Wii U

let's all blame ea again

nintendo's failing, we'll blame everything on ea

i don't think Nintendo is failing, boyo, and even if they were, nintendo and ea have barely got any interaction, so I don't understand how you can make those connections

I think the real problem comes from Nintendo releasing just the console and no games for it. They're the same people who say that "people buy the console to play the games on it" and the Wii U release tanked because of barely any good launch games for it, proving that mantra true.

It is not EA's fault at all.

And in my opinion, Nintendo isn't even failing at all. The Wii U is a new system, it's not going to sell right away.

Oh? Then explain to me why the DS and Wii had much better launch sales than the Wii U?

It doesn't have to compare to the DS and Wii. You people have high standards. Sales will pick up after releases like Pikmin 3, Zelda, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros.

I think it should compare to the DS and the Wii because less money = lower budget. And you know what a lower budget means overall.

It's not as if we had "high standards" or anything, it's all about it being competitively viable. And because Nintendo was in a rush to get the Wii U in the holiday market without any sort of decent library of games in it (not to mention some fatal bugs in it), of course it will tank

And besides, as long as they bring The Sims 4 over to Wii U, I will be perfectly fine with EA. And blaming ONLY them is just kind of ridiculous. It's no one's fault even, really.

i think that's kind of his point.

that makes shit sense

it's like a random guy turning up at the scene of the crime after the murder has already been committed, with no evidence against this guy, and they all decide that he did it

if the two companies have had no interaction, then ea cannot be blamed, simple shit

Where does this even come from?
There weren't much well selling EA games on the Wii neither, EA fans typically took the PS3/X360/PC Version, or MySims, so where's the big deal?
Nintendo seriously can handle this 2% of the supporting Developers less, as a couple of Indies started to give Nintendo their full support in return, which give back the 2% of the lost support.

All the Wii U really needs, are 1st Party games, they're repeating the same mistake like they made with the 3DS, I mean, really, just New Super Mario Bros. U, Nintendo Land, one major DLC, and a few Virtual Console games that have been played for 20 to 30 years on so many Consoles, is not enough for fans to pull their money out of their purses.
Nintendo has finally announced them, but it's still not going the way they want. And why? Because these games aren't even out yet!
As soon as that gap has been filled, expect the 3rd Parties to do their job, you just can't build a tower from 300 Metres up in the sky, and then work your way down to the ground.

This.

Seriously, 3DS failed at first because a) overpriced and b) there was no [decent] games out for the 3DS. Why get a new system that hasn't made any games required for it to get it when you have a system that has the game, or another console like the Xbox or PS companies where you can play some 3rd party games on it? Same with the Wii U, why play some of the games on it when they already have it for the other systems that are already out?

I have had the Wii U on the day it came out, and after the first month and a half, I haven't really played it much because there really isn't anything new for it to play. Nintendo can say "oh, we just didn't advertise 3rd parties well enough and yada yada", but we all know that Nintendo is mostly a little lacking in comparison to the DS and Wii because of the lack of 1st party games. When the Wii came out, Twilight Princess was available on the release date, which really sparked much of the sales for the Wii since it was a major 1st party game. The Wii U had a weak starter game line-up, and I see a major rise in sales of the Wii U this holiday season with all the new games coming out like Pikmin 3, Wind Waker HD, Super Mario 3D World (Tentatively?), and some other of their top titles.

EA really doesn't have anything to do with it.

I am in love with this thread for all the wrong reasons.

EA are a very big company and make as much games as first party Nintendo do,

But then again Nintendo can do it without EA.
