A theory about Mario games

Magikrazy

Donkey Kong
So one day I was playing Super Mario Galaxy, and I reread the story. The Comet only comes by every 100 years, so I wondered how both Galaxy 1 and 2 could be canon. Then it hit me. Galaxy 2 is a retelling of Galaxy 1. Then something else hit me. Every main Mario game has been a retelling of the original Super Mario Bros. This explains why every game feels the same. It is the same, just told by a different person. The story changes a little with each telling, but the main plot is still the same. But hey, it's just a theory.

Could've been a mistranslation.

Mario and co. live on Mushroom World, which could have years much shorter than our Earth years.

the mushroom kingdom is on earth
Eh. I like my theory better.

I think the 120 star ending implied:

That all Galaxy 2 is a story from rosalina storybook

I tried a theory like you, but wasn´t well recived :( , but yeah, mario is a cartoon for miyamoto so there will never be a deep story (Maybe 3DWorld can prove me wrong)

1) The Galaxy 1 ending restored everything and time went back.
2) Nintendo must come up with a sequel so they neglect it. You feel it similar just like NSMB2 is a copy of NSMB1.
3) Century just shows how important the festival is, not a physical number to be considered in Marioverse calendar. It's like Peach didn't get older after more than two birthdays.

My theory: Mario and Luigi are just tripping on shrooms. All the crap they've experienced is just one huge psychedelic trip.

That Super Mario Bros. Movie? That is a great representation to what it looks like IRL terms.

*begins to laugh*

The entire Super Mario Bros. Movie was on shrooms. I don't think even the weird timeline of Mario games are.

Besides, I don't think the theory is correct anyway. Descriptions ingame called Peach being kidnapped no less than 9 times, the Toads weren't surprised in Partners in Time that Peach was kidnapped, implynig her kidnappings were numerous, and even the instruction booklet for New Super Mario Bros. Wii made Peach say, "due to my most recent kidnapping..." So this implies that events did occur in the past before.

Oh well I disregard Super Mario Galaxy 2 anyway since it's story is one of the worst a Mario game can have.
