Character Confusion

So is donkey kong, kirby, or banjo kazooie mario characters? I want to say donkey kong is but has he been in any mario game? Not sure about the others. Please help
 
uh dude wrong section i guess

but uh dk has appeared in a lot of mario parties, mario karts, the mario vs donkey kong series.... and not sure if the original and revamped versions of donkey kong count though.

someone can correct me if needed.
 
Kirby is absolutely NOT a Mario character, while as DK is in alot of Mario games, however is not classified as a Mario character for as he has his own video game series. I don't know much about Banjo Kazooie.

So by this logic, not mocking you but does this mean wario isn't a mario character, he has his own series as well as yoshi and even luigi is considered to.

yeah but thing is all those characters have started in mario games beforehand.

Kirby on the other hand has NEVER been in one. Although the whole HAS HIS OWN SERIES NOT A MARIO CHARACTER comment sounded a bit rushed and he wasn't really considering something before he even said it.

Kirby: No. The only time they're together is in Super Smash Bros.

Banjo Kazooie: Debatable. Banjo's first appearance was in Diddy Kong Racing and Diddy is a DK character which is part of the Mario series. But since they've never actually been together and with Rare being sold to Microsoft so again it's debatable.

This may be true, however this conversation seems to be directed to the Super Mario Bros. series, and DK has never been in the Super Mario Bros. series.

So it's safe to assume he's a MARIO character

Again, this topic seems to be directed towards the Super Mario Bros. series, and thus Donkey Kong isn't necessarily a Mario character. True, Donkey Kong does appear in Mario spin-offs, but he's not in the main series, so he's not a Mario character.

Anyway, I do believe DK is a Mario character, but Banjo and Kazooie and friends are definitely not.
 
DK is definitely a Mario character. His first appearance was from a MARIO game, he appears in almost every MARIO spinoff, and he's not a Mario character? Sure, he has his own sub-series, but that is a sub-series to the Mario series. Kirby was only in Super Smash Bros. and a few cameos with Mario and Super Smash Bros. is probably not even canon. Banjo also had his own series and the only Mario game he was in was the original Diddy Kong racing.
 
Also, you asked if banjo kazooie is a Mario character. There is no such character. That's like asking if Halo is a Mario character.
