Boo Diddly

Shine Sprite
I was hoping to have one for Christmas

I'd say yes, if you failed to get the first Wii in time, or want to play Gamecube games on a normal speed (hint hint, Dolphin).
I'd say no, if you have the first Wii (it plays GCN games too).

Yeah, but you still need a Game Cube controller, and plus older video game consoles are cooler. IMO, but I'm pretty sure I speak for everyone.
Got that right.

Last time I used Dolphin, was 2007...ish.
God Damn, it Lagged so hard!
After that, I was unable to load any-fucking-thing on it, because it either Crashed, or told me the ISO file is 'corrupt' or 'not an ISO file', while I ripped them myself.

yea i know whta you mean it sucked so much back then
its actually really stable now, well kind of. most games for me are like 40-60 fps
games like luigis mansion are very stable but games like mario party 5 lag really bad but still somewhat playable i guess

The one benefit you'd get from a Gamecube over a Wii is that the Gamecube has a number of extra peripherals which although only a handful of games use, are actually really amazing. A couple off the top of my head include the Game Boy Player (play GB-GBA games on your television), the LAN adaptor (which can be used for the greatest thing in the history of ever, 8p Double Dash) and a few others.

I think the best set up I ever came across was having two Gamecubes (one with a Game Boy Player) and playing Pac Man VS, using the GBP Gamecube as the GBA so that player uses their own television while the other three players use another television. Simply amazing. <3

So, if you want to have awesome Gamecube parties (the best kind of parties) then an actual Gamecube will get you further than a Wii, but if you don't have the money to invest in it then either a Gamecube or Wii is fine.

there are two things the gamecube has over the wii

one: ability to use game boy player

two: games will boot up faster, because you don't have to go through the wii menu

if you don't care about either of these, then don't bother with getting a gamecube. just get a wii.

yeah wii is probably a better choice and has more availability

but you should definitely find some way to play gamecube games, because the console had so many great games
