User Whodunnit? (Murder 1: The Year of Luigi's Death)

Yes, User Survivor will continue while this is happening.

But the TV series Whodunnit? is about to end and I just had to make this.

The show works like this (taken from the Wikipedia article):

The series follows 13 guests, one of whom is secretly the "killer," living in a Beverly Hills mansion named Rue Manor. They are guided by the butler, Giles (I'll be the butler in this case though) who also acts as the show's host. Within the show's fiction, the guests, along with Giles and two maids, are trapped by the killer within the house grounds until they determine who the killer is. An early episode shows that Giles is wearing an ankle monitor that forbids him from leaving. The killer sends messages to Giles to relay to the surviving guests, informing them of their situation and cryptic instructions for determining his or her identity.
Each episode, at least one guest is "murdered" (through staged events by production) by the killer, either while the victim is alone or through pre-arranged circumstances while the remaining guests are congregated as to avoid revealing their identity. After the shock of the event, Giles offers the remaining guests an opportunity to search one of three areas (usually the crime scene, the last known whereabouts, or the morgue containing the victim's body) to discover clues about how the murder was carried out. Guests are free to select which area to search though are limited to only one area, with a limited amount of time, and confined to the bounds set by production, such as to the boundaries of police tape used to isolate the crime scene. Guests then participate in a riddle challenge that leads them in a competitive search through the mansion. The guest who is able to complete the challenge receives an additional clue that may greatly help in solving how the murder was committed.
Guests are given limited opportunities to congregate, where they can share, withhold, or lie about whatever information they find from their investigations and riddle challenges; at all other times, guests are isolated from each other. In the first series, this led to an ad hoc formation of two informal teams that shared information between each other and tried to assure the information was withheld from the other team, in anticipation of assuring their own team's advancement to the next round. Though the murders and riddle challenges are presented as having been masterminded by the killer, in reality the guest playing the killer is as unaware of upcoming deaths and challenges as the other guests, and is not given any information from production about the larger social game.
Later, guests are individually taken to a private room where, in monologue, they describe to the unseen killer how they believe the murder took place and make an accusation as to who the killer is. However, each elimination is actually based on the guests' performance on an unaired written quiz (similar to The Mole) that objectively assesses the accuracy of their theories. The quiz consists of 12-15 short answer questions about the investigation sites and the riddle challenge; ties are broken based on the time taken to complete the quiz.
During dinner, Giles presents a message from the killer. The message states which guest had the most correct theory and is subsequently spared from being the killer's next victim. The message then fully explains how the murder was completed. After this, Giles hands an envelope to each remaining guest. Those receiving cards with the word "Spared" performed well enough to advance to the next episode. The lowest-scoring guest, along with at least one other low-scoring guest will receive a card with the word "Scared." The killer may attempt to mislead the other guests by receiving a "Scared" card as well, though the killer cannot be eliminated. The killer will then eliminate the lowest-scoring guest(s) by "killing" him or her, in turn setting up the murder to be solved in the next episode. In the finale, the guest who survives to the end and unmasks the killer will leave the estate with US$250,000.

So the forum version, will basically work like this:

1. In the beginning of the week I'll reveal the houseguest that was "killed" by the killer.
2. Guests of Rue Manor will begin by choosing to visit either the last know whereabouts, the morgue, or the crime scene. All investigations will be done via PM. Some investigations will have items you can take and interact with other items. It is your choice if you reveal the information you gain or not (to a team or alliance) or keep it to yourself. Keep in mind, if you have the LEAST amount of information you could be scared.
3. After investigating and a few days of information-giving, a classic UBB styled competition will play out between everyone. The winner will get a key piece of information that again, they can decide to give or withold.
4. More time for information-giving
5. Time to present your case! You will send me a PM of how you think the murder happened. Remember, more details the better! The more accurate you are, the more likely you'll be spared! Your case must also say who you think the killer is. I will then review the cases and "scare" two to three people. The killer will get to kill one (or perhaps two!) of these players.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 until the finale.

I would like 12 sign ups max. (I might expand to 13 or 14 if a few extras want to join) Probably 8 minimum.

1. Smg2daisy
2. Rocker
3. Toad85
4. Cirdec
5. Smasher
6. DragonFreak
7. Drift
8. PrincessOfPeaches

11. BMB

Do you go by CharizardLover, DragonFreak, or something else?

Also I encourage you people to check the show out too. I think they have it on abc or something. It's really good IMO (despite some rather mixed reviews from critics) :(

I'ld rather go by DragonFreak. I don't know why I didn't have my original username as that.
I'll watch the first episode. My little brother has seen every episode so far, but I haven't really glanced it.

Re: User Whodunnit? (Sign ups now open!)

Currently writing the first murder (starring Luigi!). Hope you guys like it. I'll let sign ups stay open for a bit more and then start the game.

Re: User Whodunnit? (Sign ups now open!)

Alright, I just finished writing the first mystery, so I'll keep sign ups up until some time tomorrow morning. Remember, you'll need extra information from the other locations as well, so start planning on how you want to do that and what location you want to visit. Also, all game related PMs or quicktopics must be sent to me as well.

Re: User Whodunnit? (Sign ups now open!)

Alright, that's it! Sign ups are closed. If you REALLY want to play but didn't make the cut, I can send you the murders just for fun if you would like.

you might want to grandfather clause BMB in, he might want to play.

Pretty much this, you can't really make a forum game and not expect BMB to want in. >.>

Re: User Whodunnit?

I'm NSM, the butler here are Rue Manor.

14 guests have been invited to this estate.

While they think they're here to play a mystery competition, they're actually here to play a game of clue. A game of life or death, if you will.

There is one killer among them, and at the end of all this one person will walk out with a quarter of a million dollars.

The guests entered Rue Manor. They talked and greeted each other, until I interrupted.

I explained to them the unfortunate situation.

I called them back to their rooms and told them to wait a bit.

An hour passed.

I walked in the library and found one of the guests, Luigi, to be murdered before my eyes.

I yelled to the guests and they came down the stairs, rather frightened.

"Someone here has killed our good friend, Luigi," I said.

The guests looked around at each other.

Now, as I explained earlier, you must now choose whether you want to visit the crime scene (the library), the morgue to examine the body, or the last know whereabout (Luigi's bedroom)

Alright the game has begun! Please bold the place you want to visit here in the thread. You will only have a day or so to choose, and if not you'll be randomly chosen to go somewhere. Remember all game related PMs or quicktopics must be sent to me. Good luck!

Alright I'll add him on. If he doesn't want to play, I'll remove him or replace him.
