It seems to be very different to past laptops I've used.

Hopefully things don't get too annoying.
 
It does for me, I hate having to go to the bottom corner wait for it to appear then go into setting to shut down rather than my old one which let me shut down easily. I hate how it won't let me use Skype because I don't have a Microsoft account and I don't like how sometimes when I'm scrolling it'll take me to the menu.
 
you can still get Skype for desktop though

also on Windows 8.1 it's easier to shut off

but yeah Windows 8 is stupid
