Have You Ever Pulled An All-Nighter

A.K.A. Stayed up all night? If so, did you enjoy it, or did you not like it?

I have pulled WAY too many of these this year, most of them unintentionally. The ones on purpose were fun, the others were not because I would end up dozing right before it's time to get up and awake to a KILLER headache.

(P.S. I am seriously hoping there isn't a thread for this. -_-)

I once stayed up for an incredible 48 hours and by the final hours I was convinced the walls were made of water, and I couldn't stop talking in a goofy accent even when I tried really hard. I freaked out because I thought I would have to talk like that for the rest of my life.

I do not recommend it.

Sheesh, you must do that a lot.

Even if the farthest you get is 1 A.M. the next day

I have quite a few times.
Sometimes it has been because I have wanted to (parties/events) and other times because I have been unable to get to sleep, which is not very nice the next day...

Yeah, all-nighters are common for me. If you've never pulled one in college, you're doing it wrong. ;)

I pulled a few all-nighters with my little bro, and last time we pulled one, we managed to stay up all night, but I ended up falling asleep around 6:20 Dutch time or something. My bro later woke me up, and while I was half-awake, I walked upstairs and I got into my bed, and I slept with my clothes on.

I did many times. Because I can't sleep. There was that time where I watched that gory film when I was waaaaaay too young.

The best I stayed up was 5:30 the next morning. I'm not sure if that counts. But I do stay up pretty late a lot of times, especially on Saturday nights to watch Saturday Night Live, Soul Eater, and Sword Art Online. I also stay up, because I hate sleeping.

I usually only get to 3am. I was able to pull it off when I was a kid, but i can't seem to do it now

I stayed up for about 38 hours when I went to Italy last year. I had an entire day of school, then stayed up until 2AM because that's when we left for the airport, aiming (and failing) to get some sleep on the coach. Didn't get any on the plane either. And then later that day we did a lot of walking in Rome and went to the Pantheon and stuff. I'm surprised I wasn't more tired by the end of it all.

>Super Jealous.

Would the fact that we got ice cream while we were there help that?

(Interestingly enough, I'd say that was the day of the trip I'd probably be least jealous of if I were you. The other four days were much better.)

YES!

The United States is so far away and cultureless.

Tried several times, but the only time I did it was under huge jetlag.

many, many times, and each time has been awful

not so much anymore due to work

I've done it a few times.

Definitely do not recommend, because they make getting back on a normal sleep schedule annoying. I basically have it happen every summer where I slowly stay up later and later and sleep in later and later until boom, it's 7am and I'm still up, and then 4pm and I'm just starting to wake up. Sucks.

But if we are talking about like staying up for more than 24 hours, well then I had to do it a few times for school purposes. Sometimes you just have so many assignments due that take a long time that there is no other way to do it but to pull an all-nighter. It sucks, but it's the sacrifice needed to get all A's. :P

I have before.

When I'm staying up really late, my ability to care about anything basically goes away and I become slightly amused at the world. It's like a zoomed-out view for some reason.

I think after I pass the 24-hr mark, though, my emotions just flood in, creating the opposite effect - everything is super-personal. This is more like the opposite of my regular personality, instead of an intensifying.

So many assignments, so many all-nighters.

Pretty sure the longest I've been up is about 38 hours, doing homework the entire time. It is pretty terrible and I wouldn't recommend it (though get used to it if you want to make games for a living, oah!)

i've pulled an all nighter a couple of times watching movies and that's it

Once, and it was this year's Halloween when me and a mate watched 5 SAW films, struggled to stay awake around the 5:00 mark, but when it got to when I usually wake up I started feeling fine and didn't feel sleepy until I usually do
