Here's my roster. Feedback and suggestions for improvement are accepted.

Reasoning:
Donkey Kong:
With the revival of the series, I think it is major enough now to deserve three reps. Dixie Kong would fit nicely, as she'll be playable in Tropical Freeze.

Metroid: Ridley. He can be scaled down. Just look at Olimar and Kirby for an example. Ghor has potential as well.

Kid Icarus: Kid Icarus deserves two reps because of Uprising.

Pikmin: I think the series is major enough to warrant two reps, but I really don't know who I can add who won't be a semi-clone. I added the President because he could possibly have attacks built around physical.

Pokemon: I gave Pokemon Trainer Fennekin, Quilladin and Greninja to advertise Gen 6. Mewtwo should be brought back to celebrate Gen 6.

Fire Emblem: Despite what others say, 3 Fire Emblem reps would be too many. Ike isn't really that important to the series anymore, anyways.
 
Ganondorf

I am complertely fine with that, though there might be a slight chance that he is being replaced by another villain, or cut entirely, because he has not been as prominent as used to be in the Zelda Franchise in the past few games.

Tetra

Don't think this is gna happen, because IMO Zelda has enough reps. If they really have to include Tetra make her an alternate costume for Zelda and cut Sheik (even though Sheik will likely stay due to Oot 3D which even has a stage in the 3DS version).

Hades

I can see either him or Palutena getting a spot (Uprising pushed the franchise a little, not enough for 3 reps tho).

Ice Climbers

I don't really like the ice climbers, so I'd rather have them replaced with another retro character. However, since they've been in both Melee AND Brawl they will probably stay.

Meta Knight

I don't really see why Sakurai should kick him out, I only think his Moveset will be changed A LOT, because he was way too good in Brawl.

Lucario

I don't think that Lucario is major enough in the Pkmn franchise to still warrant his position. Would rather have Mewtwo instead.

Lucas

I again don't really see why he should be cut. Maybe Nintendo wants to secretly advertise a Mother 3 VC release? (YES PLEASE)
