I have statistically proven that Mario Party 9 is better than Island Tour!

Guys I thought of a new idea, to explore… guys?

So I was thinking, "I'm booooored, what can I do? I know! Prove that Mario Party 9 is better than IT!" So here's how I did it... I averaged the amount of time a board would take on IT (36), then divide that by 45 (the average amount of time it takes for a 9 board to be completed) and I found out that IT's boards are only 80% as good as 9's! And the boards are the only good part of IT (don't get me started on Bowser Tower), so yeah! 9 is better than IT!

So? Game lenght is not everything.
That is true, however, most people prefer a long game to a short game (gets murdered by short-game fanboys)

I'd rather have a short good game than a terrible long one

wait, i thought you just set the number of turns on a board prior to playing on it

Or you could just play both games and decide which you like better. Why the hell do we need stats?
also this

Why bother abbreviating Island Tour, but not Mario Party 9?

This was SARCASM, guys.

You have one-handedly statistically proven that detecting sarcasm is more difficult than learning all 1,000+ languages in this planet.

Whoever deleted my post, I was being SARCASTIC.

Anyway, I don't have either game, but we can probably all agree that 6 was the best GCN MP.

All hail Brighton and Twila

I personally think Mario Party: Island Tour is a lot of fun, even with a few gameplay problems and the worst board in Mario Party history, Rocket Road. The minigames are really fun to play and I liked the "Hot-Air Hijinks" mode.

Not really. I stated it here because this is an anti-Island Tour thread, so I posted my opinions about the game and why it's not as bad as you think IMO.

OK. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the plot, but there are some bad things about it. In other words, I respect your NEUTRAL opinion. If you said it was the best game ever...

Hey, have you ever managed to win in the Rocket Road board? If you do, props to you. Good lord, that board is a stinking, ridibrockiculous piece of garbage.

I've won at least once in all boards (even Banzai Bill's Mad Mountain, which I thought would be difficult to win due to its short size) but not in Rocket Road. If you try to use those boosters you get from the spaces and minigames, you're pretty much guaranteed to get a 0 and not move at all. Then, an idiot CPU player comes along and uses a 300,000X booster and BAM, wins the game. Then you get to see Rosalina's completely pointless appearance. Seriously, this board's winner is BORDERLINE RANDOM every single freakin' time. And you get 3 boosters for finishing in first place in the minigames (might as well not use them, you know you'll get a 0 if you do use 'em). Oh, and there's also those cheap-as-all-fuck Warp Spaces that put you in someone else's space (pretty much always screwing you over).

Honestly, the plot of Mario Party or even just most Mario games in general were never that good. If you ask me, calling a Mario Party game considerably worse because it has a mediocre plot is like calling water disgusting because it has no real taste.

I won it, like, twice.

What difficulty were the computer players on?

This board would have been very interesting if it had far more spaces, something like 100 and not 25.
