Warios appearance has yet to be seen but we know he has made the cut because that would be totally crazy if he was left out. But I would like his original clothes from Wario Land, Super Mario 64 DS, and every Mario spinoff to be the default clothes. WarioWare clothes should be an option though, but I consider yellow and purple his iconic colors and who he is as a character.

This should be moved to the smash bros board at the top of the marioverse board. *ninja'd*

Also, I wouldn't mind him having the old clothes as the default,

The only problem with that is that Wario is meant to be representing the Wario series. His appearance should match his appearance in those games.

You're forgetting about the Wario Land series.

Project M fixes this. They make his moveset much more Wario Land based instead of WarioWare based and make his normal clothes default.

does that mean he doesn't have his motorbike anymore?

No, because he represents the WarioWare series. If he were part of the Mario series representatives, then yes, he should be wearing his overalls as his default attire.

Correct. His ->B is the running shoulder bash.
And it's a fucking awesome attack.

Why can't he represent Wario Land?

i thought Luigi's Mansion and Wario games were both spin offs

To answer the topic question, I say yes

i prefer both

wario land series is better then warioware but i do like his warioware appearance.

Smash counts Wario as its own franchise. After all, we don't call DK and Yoshi games spin-offs.
ah ok

I'd prefer it if his old clothes were the default, but it'd be fine if they weren't.

Yeah I don't mind him representing WarioWare more than Wario Land, but I wouldn't be fussed if he wears his overalls as default in SSB4, especially if they change some of his moves to match.

Can't wait for Wario's reveal, whenever it may be.

Agree with this saying. If making him in default clothes, which means he represents the original series, it would conflict with the fact that he's not the major character of Mario series / SMB games and he can be "disqualified". I guess it's already a favor for Wario to have two clothes (though not sure if the doctor/nurse clothes should return).

But Wario Land is an entire series with six games.
Luigi's Mansion and Super Princess Peach are spinoffs.
It's also mentioned in the main forum by Baby Luigi. We're not sure if Nintendo has future plan for Wario's new platformers, but the question should be whether Warioware the brand also represents the whole "Wario" things.

In history, well, Wario Land came first. But seriously, Warioware and the Diamond City are the real worldview of its own brand. Personally I hope that the two "sub-subseries" can combine so that the brand can be even stronger and easier to market. Even better if a second Wario representive is announced in SSB4.

It would be alittle complicated to discuss those specific games or sequels (after all, these characters already had key roles in the main series). If this counts, many other Nintendo characters can fight for the entry.
