- Will launch figurine business called NFP (NFC featured platform)
- Showed Mario figure across many games being used including saves
- NFP game and figures will be shown at this year's E3
- Nintendo 3DS will also get IR NFP reader, so figures can be used across Wii U and 3DS

I don't see the issue. A first-party Skylanders-esque thing, if I am interpreting it correctly, is not the worst idea in the world.

I don't have the money for this crap though

The Super Smash Bros. trophy concept could've worked REALLY well with this, lol.

Oh well, I have to spend my money for all statues on ebay

Quite creepied about QOL and new hardware

Why does it have to be a series I enjoy playing?
It could end up being better than Skylanders, since

" - They rather make not just a figurine, so it does more"

But who knows?

I think it said you can transfer game data with those figurines to other consoles so that makes them a step above Skylanders/Disney Infinity s---t

Good about 20 seconds less boot up on Wii U
It's not that long. I'd just prefer quicker time to load up the Wii screen.

Now, if only these were pose-able action figures

We already have Link, Samus, and Pit action figures that are poseable.

But we're going to have Mario soon...

YES!
(do not question my liking for pose-able action figures, and where did that blinking line that comes when I type go)

Better if they're sold as action figures than video game figurines, though. It wouldn't be as costly since making the mold for these things is hard. I think asking for articulate figures for these type of figures is a bit too much, lol.

I find it hard that Nintendo can do this, since the idea has been tainted. But who knows?

Meh, I don't think it's that weird for Nintendo to do this. This thing sells and that's all that matters to a business.

Just be glad NO beloved characters get a "redesign" and Nintendo usually doesn't release one game of the same (sub)series per year.

Considering Nintendo's current financial situation, this is a smart move. This type of stuff is popular among kids and they benefit from all the money people spend on the figures.

The question: are people tired of this or not?

Nope, this whole figure fad is still highly popular; Activision is still whoring out a yearly Skylanders game
