Troopbusters ("Red Green Show"/Mario crossover (and "Ghostbusters" parody))

Ever since I got a DVD gift pack that contained both Ghostbusters movies today, I've been planning on starting a parody fan-fiction that stars The Red Green Show cast as the human characters and mostly Koopa Troop members as the ghosts.

The story:

Set in June early October 1984, Red Green, Winston Rothschild and Dalton Humphrey are suddenly fired from a Toronto area university's parapsychology department and decide to become entrepreneurs (which was also influenced by watching The Twilight Zone reruns during breaks) by chasing immortal (and famous) enemies from the Mario series who invade Toronto (and try to turn it into a madhouse), but their biggest challenge: they discover that the refrigerator door in the Green household leads directly to a gate into the direct opposite of heaven! However, this all actually turns out to be a live, on-location local advertisement for the then-new Ghostbusters film.

UPDATE: I have finally decided on a name for this project-plus, I've just watched the original Ghostbusters (with the filmmakers' commentary overlaid) and I'll start on a script sometime tomorrow.

But I feel like Red, Dalton and Winston would be involved as test subjects more than staff in any sort of University of Toronto psychology department, paranormal or otherwise, lol.

Well, I could make them test subjects, but I'm still wondering how they would get kicked out of the university for an experiment incident.

Maybe they tried to use duct tape to "improve" the testing equipment, but as with many Handyman Corner inventions, it doesn't work out as planned.
