Unable to connect to other users

Hi, I've been having some issues with my Wii U lately. I haven't been able to connect to other users in a while. I was perfectly able to do it before, but not anymore... and I have no idea why. I can still use my web browser and miiverse, but I can't play online. Every time I try to do so, I get one of several error codes and when I look them up at Support Nintendo, my specific error code can't be found (which is really annoying). I've done everything I can to improve my internet signal, but I'm still not able to play online. Help, please? :')

Maybe the router in the Wii U is broken? If your warranty is still applicable, you should send it in for repairs.

Thanks, but my warranty is unfortunately no longer applicable. Nevertheless, I actually managed to find a solution to this problem... sort of. A friend told me to put the modem closer to the Wii U, and so I did. Since then, it's been working okay (not great, but I can live with it).
