One time I opened the door to my room and it was swarming with giant, flying, biting carpenter ants. It was like a horror film.
Another summer, Yellow Jacket wasps kept getting into my room and I even got stung in the back of my leg while I slept - then my dad got stung in the ass when he was looking for the one that got me. Nowadays the only random bugs (besides spiders and house centipedes) that keep showing up in my room and elsewhere in the house are Masked Hunter assassin bugs - thankfully not one of the members of their family that feeds on humans, although their bites apparently hurt like a bitch if you provoke them.
Last year, we had roaches in our kitchen and the bathroom - and in my room, again, for some reason (there's not even any food in there). But we called an exterminator (the same guys who took care of our ant problem) and now we're good.
We've had mice problems at both my work and my volunteer place: we kept a running tally of how many we killed with traps at the latter (about 40).
Fucking ants, everywhere. They seem like a minor annoyance but they get everywhere. In the bathroom, in the kitchen, etc. We killed them last year. But they are showing signs of showing up again.
There were once a bunch of ants in my home. If you dropped a piece of food, ten seconds later at least fifty of them are gathered around. They're gone now, but spiders have taken their place...
I am not sure about 2 skunks living under my porch an infestation. It was a mother and it's child and the mother escaped the hole and never came back but the baby got stuck somehow but about a week ago we put a light in the hole and left some food outside and it seemed to have left.
It started back in May when I was just leaving my house to go to the Bus stop it comes strolling to my side of the street and I just back away into my garage and it starts running up the driveway but luckily I didn't get sprayed and it didn't get in the garage. But after that day, every night started smelling really bad.
We used to have this green minivan that broke down in our driveway. The first summer was okay, but every summer after that there were wasps that made a nest in our green minivan. After that, they were everywhere. It doesn't help that I have this huge phobia of them, either. They made the nest in a gas tank, making it impossible to come out, but if you took it out, they make a new one in the next 2 days. They leave every fall and a few of them come back in late spring, signalling their return. We got the minivan towed after 6 years, just this March.
Right now, there's this invasive species called Emerald Ash Bores or something in Canada. They get inside the bark and begin eating at the inner part, killing the tree. Since they're invasive, they have no predators, meaning they can be everywhere. There's a lot in my neighbourhood, mainly because there's a forest in my backyard and there are a lot of ash trees. My grandma is very sad because she has this huge ash tree and is scared that they might kill it.
