Super Dimentio: Why Luigi?

I have always wondered why Super Dimentio was chosen to be in the form of Luigi instead of Bowser or someone else (a Bowser-form of Super Dimentio would be sick!). I know that it had something to do with the prophecy, but why did the GAME DEVELOPERS choose to use Luigi?

Why? Because he just is. The game never says why he is the ideal host, he just was.

Hell I don't even know why he was needed, the chaos heart was still doing all its reality stuff just fine without him.

I think it's purely for unnecessary drama rather than some intelligent reason

Funny, thats how I feel about most of the game's overall plot.

They were simply continuing the trend of main characters getting possessed. It already happened with Bowser two other times, along with Peach in the second game. I guess they felt it was Luigi's turn that time around.

Mario is supposed to be a...uh, upbeat not taking itself seriously series...right?

You know what's dumb? The ideal host is a hero. That seems kinda ridiculous. In my opinion, it might be a reoccuring character who seems minor at first, but turns out to be some special all important exalted one.

I wonder when Mario will get possessed? I'd love to see that. It would probably be in another RPG.

Probably never

Thats how I prefer it, if I wanted dramatic serious storylines I'd sure as hell wouldn't play anything from this franchise.

I thought it was interesting that Luigi was the ideal host - like he's hiding secrets deep down. SSBB also touched upon it with the whole Negative Zone attack and the trophy about "embracing the dark side in his brother's shadow" or whatever. I also feel like maybe he's got insecurities and things that could be seized upon, whereas Bowser, while evil, is confident in himself and feels overshadowed by no one. I dunno, I just appreciate every little scrap of depth Nintendo bothers to give us about their Mario characters.

The main thing that bugged me was that throughout the adventure, Luigi being Mr. L was treated like a joke: imho, it would have been a lot more interesting if Mario knew all along that his twin brother had been brainwashed and was being used as a weapon against the other heroes - giving him a personal reason to be going after Bleck: more Yoshi's Island-ish "gotta save my other half" quest-ish, instead of just the usual "gotta do what's right, gotta save the world, impersonal and flat do-goodery, lah dee dah" routine.

I really think you are really just making mountains out of molehills with this whole Luigi thing right here.

Besides, uh, Mario smiles even less than Luigi in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I don't like portrayals of either brother in Brawl.

Maybe he's in mission mode: gotta fight, gotta win, gotta concentrate, etc. But really, aside from the Ice Climbers, I can't think of anyone who's overly cheerful in SSB...

They want to make Mario appear innocent, truly "hero" like. As for Mr. L and Bowser, they made them too nice for "evil" characters, with Mr. L's comments seemingly taunting instead of doing actual harm.
I don't think he's quite innocent - he does cut swathes through enemy ranks on a routine basis, after all. I also like to point out that Peach was the only one who ended up in the heavenly Overthere: Mario and Luigi joined Bowser down below in the land of the more morally grey. And on a similar note, I just found out that in the Japanese version of PM:TTYD, the Great Gonzales' nickname translates to "The Executioner from Hell" (in English he's just the "Merciless Executioner", but still, bold words).
