Mario Kart deserves its own Sub-Board.

Does it?

One of Nintendo 2 big seller Series has its own Board (Super Smash Bros). Why not both? Mario Kart is also a huge Franchise and it has a lot of depth and a lot of people talking about it. It would only be fair for it to have its own sub board just like Super Smash Bros has its own Sub Board.

I disagree. Smash Bros. is an entirely different series from Mario, only loosely connected because Mario elements appear in it. It's not part of the Marioverse per-se, but it's big enough to get its own board. Mario Kart however, is still part of the Mario series and I don't see a whole lot of talk about it to warrant its own board. In fact, I think Pokemon should get its own board before Mario Kart since I see a bunch of more topics pertaining to Pokemon in the Handheld gaming board much more than any other game there.

Then Somebody will want a Mario Party and Mario Golf sub-board, So No.

Mario Party could kind of use its own board but it isn't important enough.

Well, considering Mario Party 10 got the most views from America in E3 if I remember correctly, it's still popular.

Snowballing arguments don't work here.

Mario Party and Mario Golf isn't all that popular compared to Mario Kart, so there's even LESS chance of that happening

This isn't talking about general popularity, this is solely discussing the popularity with this forum in question

we would have to have a board for every type of game, like the super mario games, the luigi's mansion games, the donkey kong games, the mario and luigi games, the mario party games, etcetera, etcetera

it's a bad idea, still counts as a mario game

smash bros. isn't part of the marioverse, but we cover it anyway, since it's got mario in it, and it's a pretty damn big series

it's like the avengers of the nintendo world

Again, using the snowball logical fallacy doesn't work at all.

None of those games you mentioned will ever be as a popular subject to talk about than Mario Kart, so quit discussing about possibilities that have a nilch chance of happening.

Not relevant.

it has a lot of depth

not relevant.

a lot of people talking about it. It would be only fair

Now now you might have a cogent case if you were able to convincingly demonstrate that active, substantial Mario Kart discussions are making up a disproportionate portion of the marioverse board and that it's making navigation more inconvenient for people that want to talk about other things than Mario Kart. But is that actually the case?

And the answer to that is: No, not as far as I can tell. A quick look at the first page of the Marioverse board shows that there's only slightly more than a third of the current threads are specifically about MK or (lol) its character roster (which is a pretty big number, but not that disproportionate coming hot on the heels of a blockbuster release), and furthermore, most of those are throwaway "What is your favourite [thing] in Mario Kart 8" and "What do you expect/want for Mario Kart 9: Nanotech Disaster?"-type things, which have no staying power whatsoever. Furthermore, the further you go before MK8's launch and pre-release hype, the less there are MK threads, which doesn't make me optimistic about an hypothetical board long term prospects.

So yeah, personally (and I'm stressing this because I don't want other users to interpret my posting as being representative of the rest of the mod team), I don't think it's needed. If we were going to create a Mario Kart board, it would be to make the forum more readable, not to celebrate the glory of a videogame franchise by giving it it the honour of having its own board on a crabby Mario fan forum. Keep that dumb meme to smash bros. threads. did I really type this many words about making a sub-board, jesus christ
