With the new characters released today. There's something that came in the pic of the day prior to the character announcements. That being the Rayman trophy. It seems like they contacted Ubisoft only to get him in as a Trophy and not much else.
While I'm kinda confused at this. This is making me wonder if there's going to be quite a bit more 3rd Party representation then we thought there would be. Even from series that are not represented with Playable Characters (The series that are represented with playable characters being of course Megaman, Sonic, and Pac-Man)
Possible trophies, stickers (if they return) or even Music could possibly be derived from other franchises. For Capcom we could a trophy for Phoenix Wright or even a few of the Street Fighter characters. For Sega we could get NiGHTS or with how Platinum Games is now a part of Sega... a Bayonetta trophy. And for Namco we could get trophies for other classic Namco characters such as Dig Dug.
But what's interesting is how the Rayman trophy is here. Meaning it's possible that Nintendo has contacted 3rd Party companies for content without including them as playable characters. Such as what seems to be the case with Rayman. Could Rayman be the only one of these? Or if you think there could be more, what characters or franchises would you like seeing at all in Smash Bros. even if it's as small as a Trophy now that a 3rd party franchise no longer is required to have a Playable Character to receive representation in Smash Bros.?
