Which Mario Kart games have enjoyable battle modes?

Everything but Mario Kart 8.
 
I'd say Double Dash had the best battle mode, the courses were great except Block City and there was Shine Thief and Bob-omb Blast. Wii had an alright battle system, but it WAS WAY TO SLOW. Also I didn't like how we had the choice of only the standard kart and standard bike. I also liked 64's battle mode.
 
I can't say for the ones that I haven't played but I enjoyed all the Battle Modes from the ones that I have played.
 
DS's shine runners mode was dumb, though it's balloon battle was the shit

but anyways I enjoyed all of the ones I played except for the aforementioned shine runners

It's not an insult, it's my opinion.

Anyway, Mario Kart Wii's Battle Mode was a bit slow for my tastes, and I hated how they forced you into teams for them unless you played offline or something.

"Insulted"? Nope.
It's called "opinions", and many people have them, like yourself.
 
Mario Kart 7 > Mario Kart 8 > Mario Kart Wii > Mario Kart DS > The rest.

The rest sucked because, even with a twin to play with, we prefer to go in teams, so the remaining battle modes are by far the most boring.

Mind you, I spend more time battling than racing, so that's saying something.
 
The ones before DS, we don't give a ---ing damn about

Now my favorite is 7's battle mode, but I enjoy the rest EXCEPT anything Double Dash and before without those bots
 
DS is the best because since you have 5 ballons, the battle is longer. The number of ballons you have influence the item system you get. And it's survival.
Wii and 7 are good too, but 7 is a bit better because it can be free for all in online mode.
All the others are boring.
 
Survival mode sucks because it just draws out matches, especially if all 8/12 characters are participating. This is the reason I didn't like Block Fort in Mario Kart DS.

Besides, you get more opportunities to beat up your hated characters and deny them points.
 
I like the Mario kart 64 Battle Mode because you could hide/escape from the other playerand then attack them. And the sounds made it good.
