Just something im doing for fun. Its more like a Donkey Kong movie though, but is the main character, so... Yeah. Tell me what you think about it
ACT 1
Our story starts on 1981, New York. Mario, a thirty-something italo-american, is awoken by the sound of his alarm-clock. As he walks around his house, we find that he is a huge fan of Popeye the Sailor and has comic-books and toys of the character scattered around his house. Mario is a carpenter, but business is bad: His Jumpman's Woodshop is about to be closed down due to him not beign able to pay the bills. He is shown reading several letters next to a Gino puppet, and appears very worried. After he recieves a phonecall warning him to pay his debt in a few weeks, his younger brother Luigi shows up and tries to help him by offering a job at the local zoo where he works, and Mario reluctantly accepts because he really needs the money.
The duo arrive just in time to see two new gorillas being taken to their cage, one of them being unnaturaly large for a primate. Mr. Segale, the manager of the zoo, says that they are a new species found on a tropical island and he names the big one Kong, while the small one is Kong Jr., to witch Luigi remarks how horribly original his boss was with names, to witch he responds by pointing how Luigi is clumsy. Luigi tries to counter it, but ends up accidentaly whacking Mario in the nose with the point of a mop. The brothers try to feed the gorillas some bananas, and they seem incredibly docile, though Kong Jr. Is shy and stares at the carpenter angrily. Mario expresses relief, laughing and waving to his brother to celebrate his success. Kong then jokingly throws bannana peals on his nose, prompting Mario to nickname him Donkey Kong due to his stubborness.
As the story progresses, Mario works by cleaning the cages and feeding them, but the focus lies on Kong's relationship with Mario. The gorilla demonstrates that it is smarter than previously believed by mimmicking Mario's gestures and dancing while he whistles the origina game's opening theme. Luigi comes up with the idea of trying to teach it various tricks and Donkey Kong soon becomes a celebrity, atracting various visitors who come to see the gorilla performing acrobacies. During a touching scene, Kong and Mario both smile at each other and bow cordeously. After the day is over, Luigi asks Mr. Segale if he could give them a raise, wich Mario especially loves because it will help him pay for his debt. He says he will think about it, but doesnt say anything more. Shortly after that, a beautiful lady called Pauline asks if she could have an interview with them, because she is a reporter and wants to put Donkey Kong on the papers. As they do so, Mario stumbles on his words and Luigi, realizing what is going on, helps him ask her out.
She ends up going out on a date with him, partly because she likes him, partly because she is promised a personal interview. Mario buys her flowers and they go to a carnival to visit the various atractions. In order to impress Pauline, Mario enters a strongman contest and uses a huge hammer to win, afterwitch they go watch a Beauty & the Beast movie that Mario doesnt like all that much. Pauline asks him what is the matter, and he says he likes to watch action films, preferably those of Popeye.
He talks about how he always ate spinnach as a child, hoping to get stronger like his hero, travel around the world having many adventures and fighting monsters. They shake hands at Puline's house, followed by a hug. Pauline walks up the stairs and their eyes meet while a shinning heart-shapped neon lamp that flashes hot pink light over them. They say their goodbyes and mario smiles and whistles the victory theme of the original game, right before the orchestral version of the song plays on the background.
