So I'm debating between getting the physical copy of SSB4 or just downloading it, and I can't come to a conclusion. Could you guys help me?

Physical pros:
• No giant waste of data on my SD card
• I can play it immediately
• Club Nintendo coins
Cons:
• I might lose it
• It could get damaged
• High chance of it being sold out/unavailable

Download pros:
• Virtually impossible to lose
• Impossible to get damaged
• I can get it right when it goes on sale
Cons:
• Big chunk of memory lost on my SD card
• Takes forever to download
• If my SD card gets corrupted, I'm screwed

I suggest physical copy. Sure, there isn't the instant gratification of downloading from busy servers during release date at midnight, but the physical copy doesn't take up space and it really looks good on the shelf. You can show off your library to your friends. I don't know, material things are better when they're physical.

Actually, the game is super-mass produced before released, moreso than a lot of games. I didn't even wait for the Brawl midnight release, and there were a ton of them in the store when I bought it later in the day. Don't worry about the high chance thing; I had much more trouble finding Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon copies than Super Smash Bros. Brawl copies.

The biggest prospect of physical copies is that you can lose it. 3DS cards can be damaged, but they're pretty resilient compared to... I don't know... CD ROMs.

Physical for that sexy boxart and authentication. The fresh smell of flipping through a manual, the seductive view of the back of the case, that tingle you get down under from unwrapping it's petite exterior.

I'm getting download, you can always back up your SD Card onto a computer if you're unsure about your SD Card getting corrupted. In the long run, download wins out. Plus you have more than one game on the system at a time.

And for me downloading usually gets me DOUBLE the amount of Club Nintendo stars anyway.

...do you have a weird fetish for video games?

If you have a NNID, corruption of the SD Card isn't a problem. You can just relink your NNID and redownload it. That's it.

That's also why you should get a physical copy. Material possession feels nice.

Physical, I only got one retail game digital and that was Awakening and it was sold out at every store and now I barely have any space left. My worst fear is the physical copy being sold out.
