Tables on smf

I have seen people talk about the use of 'tables' to organise photos and text in posts and stuff on here, how do you use them/get them to work?

Tables have two things, rows (horizontal) and cells (individual spaces within the row).

When you click on the table button (

), you start out with this:
[nobbc]

[/nobbc]
[nobbc]This is a table containing one row ([tr]...[/tr]), which contains one cell ([td]...[/td]).[/nobbc]



[nobbc]When you want multiple cells, you add more of those [td] segments.[/nobbc]
[nobbc]

Cell 1

Cell 2

[/nobbc]
Results in:

Cell 1

Cell 2

[nobbc]When you want multiple rows, you add more [tr] segments, with their own [td]'s.[/nobbc]
[nobbc]

Cell 1	Cell 2
Cell 3	Cell 4

[/nobbc]
Results in:

Cell 1	Cell 2
Cell 3	Cell 4

You can put almost anything you want in those cells. It is how I sometimes place two quotes next to each other:

Hello

Hi there

That is made this way:
[nobbc]

Hello

Hi there

[/nobbc]



You can just as easily use it to make small galleries.
