Some people are speculating that it's possible they just removed the petting part of MyRoom but kept the Live2D viewer models, removing the petting mini-game and just cutting to conversations or something new since there's a (!) bubble above the MyRoom place in an IGN video about amiibo's even though that's something that only shows up when the mini-game is ready to go.
So they must've at least replaced it with something, which is good to know.
Also they changed Asset/Flaw into Boon/Bane pfffft

Yeah, the models are pretty well done from what I've seen, though I haven't seen them moving around, just those two images that show all of them side by side. They'll have to use them for S-Supports otherwise they'd have nothing to replace the 'confession' scene with.

Yeah, I really liked the Live2d models they used. I'd be 100% fine if they kept the models and conversations and removed the petting aspect, since it would be a waste to just throw them away.

Regardless if you find that feature ridiculous, it was implemented and some people like it. And as you said, if you don't like it, don't use it. If Kotaru is right, then Nintendo of America has gone garbage again to remove it, because lol it's too provocative? That's what ERSB should actually do, adapt their rating to the game and not adapt the game to their rating.
First they removed the bust slider in Xenoblade Chronicles X because boobs must be banned for them, and now this? That's just plain censorship of game content which is not even controversial.

lol ur comparing this to a bust slider that from my perspective is a first-class pandering device? considering your comments about camilla in another thread it's not surprising to see where your chips fall
i wouldn't have cared if the feature was unchanged because it is optional, yet i don't find myself outraged with its removal because i consider the feature quite ridiculous as there are certainly better ways to build relationships between characters that don't involve creepily touching their faces (like standing them side-by-side in battle and forcing them to protect each other until they fall in love /s). with the evidence given above suggesting that they've opted for a less perverted way to include the bonuses received from the mode, my only real complaint regarding the actually important cut content (extra dialouge, the great character models) has been rendered null so how can i personally object to the change? i'm only one case though, the 'don't like it, don't use it' argument doesn't work on everyone and it seems nintendo understands that, hence the outright removal.
sure cry censorship but with costly localisation efforts like this and nintendo being an international company looking to maximise its revenue from all regions, it's only natural that they would adjust the game to suit the audience they're marketing it towards (which, if i'm not mistaken in the case of fire emblem, is teenagers and not creepy adults) in other regions instead of just translating the game as is, so what they've done is not completely irrational.
not to mention cultural differences dictate that a feature well-received in one region (in fact, i'm not even sure japan appreciated the pandering in this game very much) could very likely not go over as well in another so that means less positive reception, less sales, yadda yadda talking out of my ass here. that's pretty much the point of localisation vs. translation and to put it bluntly, it's hopeless to want a 1:1 translated nintendo experience across all regions because nintendo clearly doesn't roll like that. you may find that shit but it's not like nintendo cares tbh.

Just to play devil's advocate, the bust slider change in Xenoblade X was pretty dumb considering it was limiting the customisation of an already limited character creator. I don't really see how it could even be seen as a 'first-class' pandering device, not every woman has the same bust size, that's just common sense. It didn't affect me because I created a male character but I still thought it was an unnecessary change.

stupid petting thing being removed doesnt really change much of anything so i could care less, im more concerned if the myroom models will be kept or no, not some meaningless sexual minigame that doesnt amount to anything.

I like Boon/Bane, I love aliterations.
The only thing I didn't like about removing the breast slider is that even though it's definitely meant as fanservice, you can't make them smaller since I felt the default size was too big.
About the face rubbing thing, it's mostly likely to be replaced with a new minigame because My Room is still in.

I'm actually curious what other people are gonna choose as their secondary class. I'm going with Spear Fighter probably, maybe Wyvern Rider.

Hahahaha well I hope this "small change" allows nintendo do as they please or even butcher your precious rhythm whatever games. It's just a matter of time that they cut more and more content and snowball it it more.. Like for example games not being localized because "it's not the right audience" or worse they cater to the more butthurt bases why could prolly make radical character changes just 'cause "lol fuck you were doing this for more cash* like for exchange say they change ashley to a cutesy wutesy girl instead of keeping her as she is just to "please more people".
