Transitioning from Premiere to Vegas or importing Vegas files into Premiere

I want to make a decent Sparta Remix but the only templates I can find are Sony Vegas project files. I do have Vegas but I'm used to using Adobe Premiere. I tried exporting it from Vegas as a Premiere file, but Premiere still can't open it and gives an error message. I know jack shit about how to operate Vegas. So could someone either provide me with a Premiere-compatible Sparta Remix template file, or just explain to me the basics of Vegas (comparing them to those of Premiere so I can understand them)?
