ideas for new mario kart items

What are yours?

Here's mine.

P-Wing- gives kart wings, allowing it to fly to bypass obstacles on the ground
Double Cherry- idk how this would work but I think Double Cherries should appear in the next Mario Kart somehow
Hammers- throws hammers
Maybe some stage exclusive items too like in Mario Party 7, like flippers to make your kart go faster for a water heavy track?
 
Kuribu shoe: Your Kart becomes the shoe, but it has 4 wheels, explaining it's movement. You press a button to make it jump and this will crush or make a shock-wave and stun opponents. It expires in 5 uses. It also helps you get a boost and avoid traps like shells, fake item boxes, and banana peels.
 
black shells: like green shells but explode and can be remotly detonated.

Perhaps it could create a clone next to the player and if one gets hit, the player controls the other?

Remember the ruppees on Hyrule Circuit? Something like that, except unique.

Ball: resembles Lemmy Koopa's ball and rolls around on the track in straight lines, bouncing off walls and karts. When a kart is hit, that kart suffers no damage, but is bumped in a semi-random direction, as if it were a super-heavy kart. The Ball vanishes after a set number of bounces (same as a Green Shell's wall collisions). When lying on the ground, starts rolling upon first collision with a kart (the first collision counts as a bounce).

Yoshi Egg: targets racer ahead of the user, similar to a Red Shell. Upon collision, releases three items to lie on the track as obstacles or power-ups. The items released can be: Green Shell, Red Shell, Mushroom, Bob-omb, Star, or Ball. (not really "new", per se, it has the same function as in Double Dash. No Birdo Eggs this time, though)

Barrel: same size as the Bowser Shell in Double Dash!!, it travels in a straight line plowing through Karts and obstacles. If a driver is hit, they lose their items. The Barrel is destroyed when it hits a wall, or an equally-powerful item or obstacle such as a Chain Chomp or a racer using a star.

Pink Boo: searches for the racer with the best item, then steals the item and brings it to the user. (replaces Boo as an item if he were playable)

Inky Piranha Plant: obstructs the view of drivers ahead of the user by spitting ink. Hangs from the top of the screen. (replaces Blooper as an item if he/it were playable)
 
I had an idea for a special item in my hypothetical Double Dash sequel, for Fawful and Antasma. Similarly to the Yoshi/Birdo egg in that it's different between the two characters but serves the same function. Dark Star/Dark Stone: Makes the screens of other racers extremely dark and difficult to see, basically a buffed Blooper. Slows CPUs down much more and makes them more liable to hit walls. I originally thought it could be the successor to the Boo in that it steals items, but I think it would be better to just return the Boo (though that would conflict with King Boo potentially being playable)
 
This totally wouldn't work, but I just pictured Mario throwing Baby Luigi as an item... and it was just his standard sprite from PiT, then it blew up... BLoF is gonna kill me, but it was hilarious

Anyway, Cape Feather, but as a warp item for last place instead of what we had for SMK. It warps the player to 5th... then Lakitu puts the player down.

Yes because this is the first time where he suggested Baby Luigi becoming an exploding item.
 
maybe we could have a mini mushroom? it allows drivers not to get squished by other racers, thwomps or vehicles ((moonview highway is :mad:)), but you can still get hit by items

ideally you get this around 6th-10th place ((5th-6th in the smaller rostered ones))
 
...but you don't really get squished to begin with?
 
a metal box that makes you invulnerable to items (however it doesn't give off-road immunity) and gives you maximum weight

idek how it would work with metal mario though
 
there are some people who get squished very often

especially in wii, because that's where the idea came from, I was sick of being squished by just about everything so I'm like "let's just add a mini mushroom"

It could make the kart metal too.
