3DS help

I was playing some Smash, and I exited the battle I was on. It went to black, and when I expected the loading icon to show up, it didn't, so now it's frozen. I tried putting it in sleep mode, pressing the home button, and turning it off. Still black. This is seriously worrying me, so what should I do?
 
I don't have a SD card for the formatter, so am I basically screwed?

Man, I don't know, I just pulled something off GameFAQs. If you want, you could simply just keep Googling it because I honestly have nothing else for you.
 
You can try completely turning it off (hold the power-button until the power-light goes off, may take up to 20 seconds), maybe then it works again. I don't know if that's a solid solution though.
 
It's fine now. I let it deplete the battery, and that seemed to do it. You can go ahead and lock this now.
