There's a Twilight Zone episode I'm trying to find. I don't know the name, but I know the plot.
A man and his dog go hunting (iirc) but they fall in the water. The next day, we see them leaving. The man tries to greet people, but nobody notices them. He approaches two men digging a grave for someone who died. He then realizes him and his dog drowned in that river and died. He walks down a road but is approached by a man claiming to be St. Peter standing at what appears to be Heaven's entrance. He tries to enter, but his dog is not welcomed. He leaves and keeps walking down the road. He meets another man who says he's the real St. Peter. He explains that the previous guy was actually a devil trying to get him into Hell. Dogs can spot devils, which was why his wasn't allowed. He and his dog then enter Heaven and Rod ends the episode.
