By Japanese standards, that's actually some good CGI. This will hopefully tide me over while I wait for Godzilla 2016.
I'm actually surprised they went so heavy on the CGI, considering Toho was with MEXT on using traditional tokusatsu techniques over the cheaper CGI, but this looks to be a healthy mix of the two. I like that the first part of the movie is basically a small remake of Gamera: Guardian of the Universe.
