This seems like the correct place to put this. I checked everywhere else... I was just rereading the rules and noticed that the avatar section doesn't have any rules against specific avatars. This means that someone without very much common sense could violate the image rules with their avatar and say that it wasn't against the rules.

Mods are not going to list every single thing of what you can or can't do in this forum. If someone blatantly violates the rules, especially considering gore or pornography in avatars, the mods will step in and do something about it. Tell yourself this: if you have to ask yourself if your avatar or so-and-so avatar violates rules, it probably does. If there's a user with an offensive avatar, chances are, it's probably just a troll who joined only to stir shit up. We've never had a problem against users taking advantage of how it's not mentioned in the rules, and we won't, because the beauty about pure common sense is that it's extremely flexible, especially pertaining to displayed content like this.

pretty much what Baby Luigi said. If someone tries to put an offensive image in their avatar and says "oh it wasn't against the rules", that won't stop us from applying moderator judgement.

Also our "no gore, no porn, no offensive content" rules apply to everything on the forum including avatars, so there's a rule against it anyway.
