Firefox introduced a new feature I don't want.

Where in about:config do I go to turn this off?

the fact that it suggests mindless junk before the homepage must say a lot about me

Go to options from the menu and find this item:

I unticked that and restarted the program, but it's still appearing.

My guess would be to untick all the one-click search engines as well, but I'm not seeing that on my version of Firefox so I'm not sure it'd work

As far as I see, that label just indicated that as soon as you press enter, you'll perform a Google search. In itself it doesn't do stuff.

I thought it was messing with my muscle memory by making me press down twice instead of once after typing part of an url, but apparently not so I guess it's just more unsightly than inconvenient.
