What thingy made you sad in the Mario series?

The Mario series never really makes you feel emotions towards it.

Quite a bit of SPM was kinda depressing. Chapters 4-4, 7-4, and 8-4 were pretty damn sad.
 
The ending to almost every Wario game.

... The "sad" music in PM: TTYD makes me think of Stars for how twinkly it is...

When Mario's Luma when to the blackhole it made me sad.

Also the ending of SMS when Mario loses F.L.U.D.D made me sad :P . Mario look like he was about to cry. :lol:
