My company, RAND Engineering & Architecture, constructed an 8-foot version of Yoshi made entirely of food cans for Canstruction New York's 2015 competition. Yoshi was made of 6,114 cans of food that included chicken, corn, chili, carrots, beans, and mixed fruits and won for Best Meal award for the variety of foods used. After the competition, Yoshi went on to feed approximately 4,000 hungry New Yorkers. We and the engineers and architects at RAND who spent weeks after hours designing and constructing him are very proud of him.
