battery icon won't show up on taskbar

...and my computer will not let me turn it back on. the slider is grayed out.

how do I fix this?

If you are using a laptop: Are you running your computer solely off the charger, rather than a having a battery? Perhaps.

If not, maybe ask Cortana there in the bottom left. She has openly invited you to.

1) no, I use it both charged and on battery power, and the icon won't show up in either case
2) all cortana does is look up what I type in on the internet... using bing of all things

(btw nothing I see online helps)

well I closed my computer and it suddenly reappeared when I opened it again

since it seems to be staying I guess this can be locked lol
