A question about the Hori Mini Pad

Princess Céline

It's teatime!
My normal N64 controller that I use has currently broken down, so I looked online for a replacement and found that a Hori Mini Pad was suggested as a good alternative. But my question is, is it a good controller to use when playing platformers (DK64, Banjo Kazooie, etc) and Mario Party 1-3? It is a little expensive, but from what I've heard, the controller is very responsive, the control stick is very good and it allows you to run at full speed in all directions, but it may take some time to get used to the weirdly positioned Z-buttons, as there are two of them. I've also heard that the D-Pad is also not so good either, but I don't own any games that uses it extensively.

If you have used or owned one, what are your opinions?
