How do you get the prankster comets?! -Super Mario Galaxy

I've been trying to get to 120 stars and now i'm at 104. I've tried the "Move It" option on the comet Luma like 20 times. I've repeated playing galaxys over and over. I've checked the map every time. Is there something i'm doing wrong? I'm looking this up and not getting anything useful. Do I have to check all the domes for prankster comets? Do I need to be more patient? Should I play galaxies that take a while to complete? I don't know what to do but these comets NEVER show up! Please, please help. This is driving me nuts. -123sharp

Are the Prankster Comets the only stars you need now? If not, you probably have to find more stars as it's implied here that you have some left to go.

I have collected all of the normal power stars

I am pretty sure i have gotten them all.

Do I need to defeat Bowser?

Have you defeated Bowser yet even? I think some Prankster Comets are post-game exclusive.

I have not beaten bowser yet.

Yes, I believe you have to defeat Bowser and more will show up.

you're missing the 15 purple comets that only show up after defeating bowser. you've gotten everything you can at the moment.

I beat Bowser and it said a Purple Comet appeared. Thank you guys so much!
