Could Nintendo bring back Mario Strikers?

I'm honestly amazed they haven't done this. It makes perfect sense considering from what I heard the Strikers games were really good. Hopefully I'm not the only one who wants this series back.

After Nintendo chickened out after seeing Waluigi gut-stomp Mario in an animation for the canned Super Mario Spikers, I'm worried that this affected Next Level Games's confidence in making a new Mario Strikers. Heck, I'm worried that if they make a new Mario Strikers, it'll go the way of the hypothetical Mario Strikers: Ultra Balls. As in, heavily toned down from the comical edge the first games had.
