Defino Forms?

I've noticed in Mario Sunshine, that most of the enemies have different appearances. I like to think that this is because the species vary in foreign lands. Is there a name for this mutation yet? It seems to be sorta glossed over on the wiki.

considering enemies already tend to vary quite a lot from game to game we can't reasonably say there's a specific "delfino forms" thing

just look at koopas and their shift from quadruped to biped

The Japanese version of the book is a credible source, even if the English version isn't. But the Prima guide for Mario Sunshine is also referenced, I think.
