I have two images that I want to put beside each other, not below one another.

If you put your images together, like this:
They should show up side by side like so:
If, however, you set them like this:
They will appear on top of each other, like so:
If you did the former choice and the images are appearing on top of each other, it means that your screen resolution is smaller than the combined width of the two images, which means you'll need to scale them down, like so:
