Nintendo: Going downhill?

Yeah, the SNES years were awesome and the Nintendo 64 was full of great 3D adventures. The GB series had many addictive games. Even the Gamecube had some of my favorite games! But now they're focusing more on the audience of 6 year-old kids who play anything that has minigames on it.

And everytime I go check Wii and Nintendo DS games, it's actually frustrating to pick a good game. And I've had lots of hyped games (like Sonic and the Secret Rings or Mario Party 8) that I've sold because of how bad they are. And they keep making pointless DSs that are exactly the same. I think they're worried about making the DS thinner instead making a NEW console.

At least I have my favorite game system to play on: the SNES.

While Nintendo may be targeting a younger audience, there are still games that are good. And there are still games that adults can get into. I don't get why everyone's giving Nintendo such a hard time. They've been around for over a century; they're bound to hit a slump or two ever 50 years.

That's where the money is these days, sadly. Nintendo's first-party games are great for the most part, except for stuff like Wii Music.

No, they are not going downhill. Yes, they do have less hardcore games, but they're trying to appeal to all audiences. Once they've converted the majority of casual gamers into hardcore gamers, they'll go back to appealing to the hardcore gamers, because they'll once again be the primary audience.

I haven't had the chance to play most of the Wii series of games, but they do look pretty cool and interactive.

So, I'm agreeing based on the experience I had playing Wii Sports, and the experience I'll likely have playing other games of the same franchise.

1) Did you even read the article? The guy is wrong on almost every point he comes up with.

I only agreed that the Wii series wasn't nearly as bad as everyone says.
