Neko Productions have worked on Sonic Mania Adventures and Team Sonic Overdrive, with Tyson Hesse, with Sega being in charge of the Mario and Sonic series more than Nintendo, I think this might be possible.

These shorts have fantastic art direction, great animation and convey a story without actually saying a word, I would love it!
 
Holy hell I'd be so esctatic and would watch those over and over. Just also imagine the Waluigi Wario shenanigans and they blow up.
