I think Jack Black would be fitting, dunno if I'd rather have him as Mario or Wario though

The only way I'd accept live action is a live-action cgi hybrid Mario. I don't accept real life Mario, he's far too stylized as a cartoon character to make it work at all. His big nose, blue eyes, and proportions are recognizable, a human dressed as him far less so.
