I absolutely love M&L games, they hone on the silly slapstick cartoony side of the marioverse.

My greatest wish is for Alphadream to get fundraised so they can make more sequels. And for M&L to become Mario's #1 RPG series to make up for Paper Mario branching away from traditional format.

wait wdym I'm saying that it was good and nostalgic
Oh....i'm sorry....when you said that it was s*** i thought you meant you didn't like it.

Best RPG ever. You cannot debate me on this fact fact.

I enjoy the Mario & Luigi games a lot because they focus on the two brothers. Before Mario & Luigi, direct interaction between Mario and Luigi, in-game are somewhat limited (Mario sports games had shown direct interaction, and we've seen some artwork from like Game & Watch Gallery or Super Mario Bros. 2). Luigi, in the main games, just isn't there or is an optional player despite, being, y'know, competing with Mario for attention.

So, the Mario & Luigi games address this by having a JRPG revolving solely around these two, and I have to say, Luigi beats out any partner in Paper Mario games. What I did like in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga was a bit of a rivalry between Mario and Luigi (which we also see in the status screen where Mario shoves Luigi and Luigi elbows Mario's face), but I don't see much of them trying to shove each other after this one. You'd think a game revolving around them beating each other up just to jump up a cliff, dump some water on plants, or even inflict some damage on enemies (failed Bros attacks especially) would harbor SOME resentment and competition and be present in later games, but it's toned down.

One missed opportunity in the Mario & Luigi games was just the lack of Waluigi and Wario being there to rival Mario and Luigi. I'm *such* a sucker of the rivalry of these four characters. I always love fanart of these four duking it out, and whatever official art we have of these four are always amazing.

It's just a big shame that we couldn't get an entire game revolving around two pairs having a rivalry. I can imagine countless amount of shenanigans involving these four that I see so often in fan art being played out in the game. One of the best cutscenes in the Mario series's history, the Mario Power Tennis's opening movie, definitely involves this rivalry (but Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour's opening movie is also excellent). Heck, there can just be cartoon shorts with those four. People just overall love Mario Power Tennis's opening and I'd love to see more of it (if I'm going in a tangent, I just say, this should be put in Mario & Luigi format). Such a missed opportunity, and that chance of it happening is resting on nearly zero since AlphaDream's bankrupt and the Mario & Luigi series overall is in limbo.

I havent played every game in the series, but even after only playing superstar saga, which btw is now one of my favorite games ever, i'm hooked. currently playing partners in time and it's damn good.

something what makes m&l what it is to me is the charm. It's thanks to the characters, the humor, pretty much everything about it.

I'm sorry @Luigi Mario its just that i don't talk that way so i didn't know what it means.

Superstar Saga is my favorite. Partners in Time is a close second and I also liked Bowser's Inside story. I thought Dream Team was okay, but I dropped Paper Jam around the forest area about a year ago and I don't really have any interest to finish it.

The series stands alongside Paper Mario as my personal pinnacles of the series. Fawful is one of my favorite characters ever, and I love many of the original characters introduced. I'd love if Nintendo revisited the Beanbean Kingdom or even acknowledged its existence in the rest of the Mario series. My favorite entries are Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story (which are pretty much tied, also big surprise the games with the most Fawful are at the top of my list), followed by Dream Team and Partners in Time. The only one I really don't care for is Paper Jam, because I'm sorry but I'd expect more from a game that combines my two magnum opus subseries than... a fairly generic Mario scenario with generic Mario environments and a bunch of main-series bosses. Where's the stuff specifically from the two series that are supposedly being combined here? But meh, I also love the two remakes as much as it's sad that we never got another original entry before AlphaDream went under :(

Also, I wish we had epic artwork like this for every entry in the series

yeah i agree with you on this

They alright.

Fabulous series, I absolutely adore it.

Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions was amazing. (Playing as Bowser's Minions?! WHAAAAAAAT?!) Plus, it introduced Fawful! AND I loved how the Bros. Attacks worked in this one most of all. You use attacks you've learned for the overworld in battle. I wish they would've returned to that.

Never played much of Partners in Time, although I intend to.

Inside Story was great. I liked how Bowser was playable in a heroic sense, and the Brawl Attacks were a lot of fun. Junior's Journey was good too. (I still somewhat prefer BM somehow...) Also... F. A. W. F. U. L.

Dream Team introduced me to the series, and Prince Dreambert remains one of my favorite characters. Plus, the Luiginary attacks are the BEST. Dreamy Luigi/Prince Dreambert duo has joined my Smash top 10 now that Steve is in!

Paper Jam. Now, I know this isn't a fan favorite, but it's my favorite. I... can't explain why. It just is. Something about just gets me, you know?

In just 2 days i start the chat.
Then the people that didn't make it will get to start a chat here.
But you have to wait until then. OK?
