Are you interested in signing up for The 'Shroom? The process is simple and easy:
If you have an interest in writing News Flush or another one-time section in Fake News or any basic one-time review in Critic Corner, you can send your submissions directly to the Fake News Director or Critic Corner Director, respectively, and they will review your submission without the need to go through a formal application process. Likewise, if you have a piece of art you'd like to feature in the paper as a one-off feature, or a creative project in the community you'd like to advertise, you may send them directly to the Palette Swap Director. Team Directors reserve the right to accept or reject these one-off submissions based on their judgement of the section's adherence to The 'Shroom's standards.

- Decide on what you'd like to write and write a sample section.
- Send it in alongside your application to our Statistics Manager via any private means (forum PM, Discord message, link to a document)
- Along with sending in a demo of your section (point #4), you should answer the following questions in your application.
Code:
1.) Which position would you like to apply for?
2.) Writers have the choice to submit sections monthly, bi-monthly (every other month), or volunteer-based (one-time submission). Please select which section plan you would like to observe.
3.) The staff reserves the right to remove writers from their position if their actions reflect badly on The 'Shroom. Actions like these include extensive misbehavior on any part of the community. Do you accept this condition?
4.) Please write a full-length demo of your section. That way, we can have a bit of your work to decide if you can be on the team. Your demo section and all sections that follow must comply with our policies at The 'Shroom:Manual of Style. Failure to do so may result in the immediate rejection of your demo.
- The 'Shroom staff will review your submission, and, after a week has passed, we'll contact you to let you know whether you were approved, approved with a contingent condition, or rejected, and we'll pass along feedback that will help you improve your submission and future editions of your section.
- If you've been accepted and signed up as a regular (monthly or bi-monthly) writer, we'll use your sample section as your first section unless instructed otherwise, and your team director will be in contact with you to give you deadlines for future submissions.
