Any reason why video files are not allowed here?

This is what happens if I attach a video file:

If I try to use media (top) or image (bottom) tags, it simply doesn't work.

Is it possible to "directly" post a video with a player control without having to upload to other sites, or at least using direct file link? If it's not, then is there any reason for it?

You sure it isn't just an unsupported file extension? I'm not seeing any supported video files nor is Discord App a supported site.

Yeah, that's what I'm asking: why aren't video files (attachments or direct links*) supported on here?

*as in showing a video player for it; normal linking is obviously possible but I don't want it to be suspicious.

I'm going to guess videos are othetwise a large server strain and are just generally unsupported formats as I've never came across a forum that does allow uploading videos.

Direct links, it depends on the site. Discord app isn't supported either. I don't know WHY but probably technical reasons.
