The most famous news anchor who ever lived. Rest in peace. He was a remarkable man. He was the news for millions of people for over thrity years. This was in days before the internet and other modern outlets people get their news from today. He covered things from the Kennedy assasination to the moon landing to the cold war.
 
I don't think it's funny in any way, but Uniju has a point. Death kinda has become a fad among celebrities. :(

Also, Walter Cronkite was a really good news anchor; easily one of the best. It's sad to know he's not around anymore.

I suppose it also makes sense to take it that way, but no, "It's funny because s/he's dead" is a meme(or at least, it's something I saw someone say and I decided I would start using it as such). There's nothing funny about death, but I don't like how people always get offended when people don't really care about people's death.
