How optimistic/pessimistic are you regarding Nintendo’s judgment on the direction/features/quality of the Switch 2?

Self-explanatory. I'm in the territory of not caring about the Switch 2 much in my personal life because I'm not buying any video games for a long time, although I hope they don't klutz up and keep the Wii U graphics engine.

???????????

do u think the switch uses the same hardware as the wii u or something what the hell

Honestly the only reason I play my Switch at this point is because of modded Smash. Made me realize I can easily do without the next console, especially if it's unmoddable and given the trajectory of things, will likely be the case. So...I'm not necessarily pessimistic about it, but I'm not looking forward to it.

I don't think any features it has really matters because the only reason to even get the console to begin with is mostly for the console exclusives, which is already kind of a shaky investment since a lot of these games tend to be overpriced and fixed at the same price (idk if it makes up for the lower price versus the other consoles but at least the other consoles have a tendency to sometimes run games better than the game's desktop counterparts). It used to advertise itself as the portable home console, but it's not the only one any more.

Maybe I guess it should have a better online storefront but I have doubts it'll be much better than the landfill we have.

it's the only one that matters to the vast majority of consumers tho, let's be totally honest here

like yeah things like the steam deck and other handheld PCs are definitely cool as hell but they're also much more niche products aimed at the enthusiast market and not something that tries to cater to everyone like the switch does (and likely the switch 2)

probably most people don't even know what a steam deck even is, let alone any of the other competing handhelds.
