With this year having quite a few, I decided to see what is considered the best one

I'm answering TTYD since TTYD is my favourite game of all time and the remake is overall a fantastic remake and an upgrade over the original, despite some drawbacks, however both Brothership and Showtime are also great games indeed, and I might've said Brothership if I weren't so early on in my first playthrough. The others I never played and I very much doubt I'd enjoy them as much as I enjoy TTYD, Showtime, and Brothership, but they still look like very enjoyable games in their own right.

Out of these? Super Mario Party Jamboree but even then there are some caveats in it that prevent me from fully enjoying it and playing it (I still don't like how modern Mario Party games got rid of many features and options present in older titles such as Tag Team battles and being able to set your handicap to ridiculous amounts). I really like Mario vs Donkey Kong with my twin sister but it really is just a remake of an old game so I don't think it really counts??? Overall this year has been I think pretty meh, definitely a sleeper year in terms of Mario games.

It's difficult to choose between both Mario vs. Donkey Kong and Super Mario Party Jamboree because those are the only two games I got, and I wanted to give attention to either game. Ultimately I picked Jamboree because I always vouch for Mario Party to do well enough to be considered a staple series similar to the likes of things like Splatoon or Animal Crossing. Sure it might not sell as much as them but for as reliable as they are, they tend to get overlooked.

The fact that it sold quite well, so much that it's undoubtedly likely to be the best-selling Mario game from 2024, helps a lot. We do not know how much it sold, but it's probably a lot, though probably not as notable as Super Mario Bros. Wonder since Nintendo announced the sales figure of that game in their Investor's Relations meeting not long after its release.

Thank you for reading.

i only have ttyd and i only played that until the end of chapter 1, so my answer is mario party jamboree because i genuinely have gotten more enjoyment out of that just from watching streamers play it online the past couple of months

I've been playing a lot of Mario & Luigi: Brothership this week trying to get most of it done before college starts again, and while I also played The Thousand-Year Door, I'd like to give the title to Mario & Luigi: Brothership considering it's an all-new title, and TTYD will always holds a special place in my heart as the best Mario RPG.

Brothership is a great game, with charming characters, fun gameplay, and a nice story too. The cutscenes, the visual and animations are well done too. While, there's some pacing issues here and there, I still think that the experience was worth it. Honestly, this might surpass Dream Team and become my new favorite Mario & Luigi game.

Great job, Acquire!

clearly it's ANTONBLAST, haven't you been paying attention?

we actually didn't really play many Switch releases at all last year. we know, for a Mario Wiki editor, utter sacrilege! but most of our time last year was spent in the obscure game & game mod mines, as we were want to do. thusly, we feel a little... not-equipped, to participate in this. however, even while our head firmly buried in PvZ2 mods, obscure SMW hack and SMBX episode releases, and Anthology of the Killer, even we could tell you the TTYD remake is the real deal, just from what we've seen of it.

let us put it this way; it's a remake of TTYD that was so unabashedly willing to capture the magic of the original, that it actually went back and made sure to recapture things that were culled in the initial translation; up to, and including, the fact it wasn't afraid to make Vivian overtly and positively transgender in the English release. it literally managed to be more faithful than the version we got way back when. we feel utterly spoiled living in a world with it, and they have set a high bar for future RPG remakes (even more than the SMRPG remake already set!). if they remake an older Mario & Luigi for the Switch (or Switch 2, as the case may be), we betcha everyone, ourselves included, will be keeping a keen eye to make sure it turns out at least half as good as this one did. ;P
