EDIT: Before you judge, I made this thread in a time SSB4 was not confirmed. So just a warning with some of my talk here. The 15th post is an update on this thread as I will no longer be updating characters like I said here
Hey everyone, I just thought of cool dream thing if another Smash game: Interchangable B Movesets
You may be asking what I mean by that but anyway I'll explain it. For the purpose of this being the Mario Wiki and needing a character that has not had his moveset changed in all 3 of the games. Let's pull out good ol' Luigi here
In both Melee and Brawl of course, Luigi has the Fireball, Green Missile, Tornado Spin, and the Coin Jump.
Now to tell you what the interchangable movesets think of 4 other moves for Luigi that are possible for special moves. Like maybe another B down for a Vaccum from Luigi's Mansion (Would be the opposite of Mario's FLUDD, bringing your foes to you for A combos), a new B side could be a ice throw (When Ice Luigi or Penguins Suit in NSMB Wii), his 2nd neutral B move being Thunderhand from M&L SuperStar saga, and the 2nd B up being the Power Squat from SMB2 (Both Mario and Peach could also have this)
The goal of the moveset is to give more choice to the player. And some characters may have a new move that made a projectile reliant character into a physical machine or a fighter that could need the desperate need of a side-projectile. Anyway let's check on if this thing were implemented and you were choosing Luigi's Moveset would be
LUIGI
B Special Attack
FIREBALL (Type: Short Range Projectile)
THUNDERHAND (Type: Close-range Physical)
B Up
SUPER JUMP PUNCH (Close-range Physical)
POWER SQUAT JUMP (Close-range Physical)
B Side
GREEN MISSILE (Long-Range Physical)
ICE THROW (Short Range Projectile)
B Down
LUIGI CYCLONE (Short Range Physical)
POLTURGUST 5000 (Long Range Special)
By the way it's set up the attacks now have types toward them. The following types here are:
Close-range Physical (EX: Falcon Punch)
Long-range Physical (EX: Pikachu's Skull Bash)
Close-range Projectile (EX: Mario/Luigi's Fireballs)
Long-range Projectile (EX: Samus's Missile)
Long-range Special* (EX: Mario's FLUDD)
Close-range Special (EX: ???)
*Special means as in a attack that has an effect that's neither Physical nor a projectile. Mario's FLUDD and the Polturgust would be under this category because while technially the FLUDD is a projectile shooting water it's only purpose is to push it, and it doesn't damage. Luigi's Polturgust would similarily do no damage but move the foe closer to Luigi instead.
Now with all these choices you get to decide which one you'd like most. Maybe you prefer his Brawl and Melee Moveset so you stick it with way, maybe you want to experiment by only adding one or 2 of the new attacks to Luigi's moveset. Or maybe you wanna go all-out and try out how the new moveset would work out if you replaced all the old moves with these. Whatever you do you can't have all 8 of these attacks at once so you must pick 4 out of the 8. If your not satisfied with how a moveset worked with those changes simply try a different combination to see if you can find the perfect B moveset that can turn your Luigi into a killing machine. And if your completely unsatisfied with anything it gives new, you can just move it back to how Brawl and Melee had his moveset.
Now Luigi was just the example. I want to know what other characters could also have alternate B moves to use. Think of the possiblities if each of the Brawl characters had 8 moves to choose from each character would have a stunning mathematical technicality 32 different moveset combinations to try.
Who would say this isn't awesome? Especially if there are any new characters then there'd be a whole new 8 moves to try. Awesome ay? This would be a great way to encorparate more attacks from the game without having to remove any old moves from the past games. So how about it? I know it probably won't happen but we can all dream of the possibilities
