wikipedia claims to be 'the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit' but when you venture beyond the realm of 'basic' editing (fixing typos, correcting broken links, removing obvious spam/vandalism), you'll discover that a great many articles are effectively controlled by either a single editor or a clique of editors who regard it as being their own personal fiefdom for them to do with as they please (namely promoting their own specific POV of the subject of the article)

Well, I just made a 64-tile dungeon (the max size) at Dampe's in Link's Awakening on switch, including every boss tile and making the Nightmare Key at the end of a long gauntlet and the Nightmare along a different one right before beating the game and additional challenges... (it took 32:14 to beat omg what a gauntlet)

I haven't played the games, but I really love the concept of the world the games establish being based on classic cartoons from the 1920s up to the 1960s. The artstyle is adorable and true to the source material the game world borrows from, the game is difficult, but challenging enough that you'll want to keep playing, and the music is amazing. I also love how the Switch version of the game incorporates content that went unused in the original version and adds animated cutscenes as opposed to still images like in the original. I also love that there's an announcer that will provide quips before a boss battle begins and shouts "Knockout!" upon a boss' defeat. I also love that every time you lose to a boss, it shows a portrait of the boss' appearance during the phase of the battle you died in, accompanied by quote from the boss you lost to.

It's 33 Celcius where I live (91.4 F for all you americans) and i'm (mostly) fine. It's crazy how people from different places are used to very different tempatures

It's been about 32 celsius (or 90 F) the last week or so and I've been okay, however the humidity has been tough. But yeah, depending on where you're from, you can have very different reactions to different temperatures.

@June I'm from the Netherlands, and usually the temperatures here range from anywhere between 10 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius. I'm warm blooded, and I can't really handle temperatures higher than 20 degrees Celsius as a result.

I'm also a moderator, so let me put away the nice language and be a little more upfront.

Alluding to sexual acts with another user is not something I'm chill with, nor is extending a joke about harming yourself. There's nothing technically against the rules with it, but opening to "what do you want f slur" was also a bit of a sucker punch. I understand that there's likely an inside joke component of this that I'm not privy to, but the point is I'm not privy, and neither is anyone else on this site. I'm here and commenting because not only did this exchange make me uncomfortable, but it also made other people uncomfortable. And don't take that as a gay suppression thing or something, because the point isn't that people are uncomfortable with people being gay - this userbase is a fruit salad. The point is that people don't want to read conversations that are charged like this on the front page of the Marioboards, especially between users that are fairly young.

Consider this elevated to a formal warning. Next time a moderator subtly suggests something, assume that they're trying to be nice to you.

Kind of complicated. So first you go to the feature that lets you look up any user's avatar and autoupdates whenever they change it, and you go to any invalid address within that namespace (https://www.marioboards.com/data/avatars/somethingthatdoesnotexist). Then it will shoot you this kind of weird error page

and... voila! This image appears! However, there's more to it than it seems. You can't download, drag, drop, or do anything with the image (presumably because it's loaded as a background image), so you have to inspect the site's code and fetch the actual image link

...and THEN you can finally do what you want with the image! Kind of obscure and useless, I know, but I just like doing random stuff with websites so 🤷‍♂️

That game is truly a masterpiece. People say the devs must have spent forever perfecting this game before it came out. I think it's the best Pokemon game ever!

If you told me leading up to the release of scarlet/violet that the games would barely function, i would imidietly think you're stupid.
Fast forward to today and these games are the biggest disappointment of any game I own.
