I know I haven't been here basically at all in like a month so let me just say there's a couple reasons for it. For one, over the course of October, I had a really big dropoff of my actual interest in being here so I decided to just step back for a while.

But then November started with me having to listen to a group of nine people shit on my writing style and be surprisingly ableist about it? All the things they said were bad about my story could just be chalked up to "This is something I struggle with because of my autism" and it hurt a lot because I couldn't defend myself.

And then the election happened and my spirit was completely broken. I'm still trying to come to terms with it because I'm terrified of a nationwide ban on trans rights, even though I still think the states that I'm associated with (Illinois and Massachusetts) will keep protections in place for trans people. Needless to say though, I'm very tired and scared.

I'll just have to see what happens with my life and the world and everything to determine if I'll ever come back fully. I might still drop in from time to time to finish out my term on the Poll Committee but things are pointing toward retirement right now.

My tier list of the enemies I hate the MOST in Minecraft now that I've been playing it for a little bit LOL. These enemies are so freaking annoying.....I wish they didn't spawn at night. Like, I'm not that angry at them-but I do hate them. They greatly irritate me. LOL also each enemy I put down here will have an emoji depicting how angry it makes me. First second and third worst enemies will each have a trophy as well-gold for #1 most hated enemy, silver for #2 most hated enemy, and bronze for #3 most hated enemy.

1. Skeletons. They chase me and they shoot me with their arrows over and over again. Argh! I can't stand them.🥇🖕

2. Spiders. Everyone who knows me in real life knows I HATE spiders (they have SCARY looking faces!) and I hate them in this game, too. They're harder to kill than both zombies and skeletons combined. They seem to really hurt me, too, when they attack me. And they're really fast. 🥈🤬

3. Zombies. They take so many hits to kill and if a horde of them advances on me I'm basically done for. 🥉😫

4. Creepers. They follow me around annoyingly and explode when I accidentally walk right in front of them. And if they explode next to me, they kill me.🤦‍♂️

5. The "Guardians" in the sea areas of the map. Even when they are not hunting me and I'm not even in the water at all, they still do that rip current attack thing with their mouths continually. It is so loud and when I'm near the water I can hear them doing it over and over again. I find the noise incredibly irritating.😒

So yeah, relatedly (did I use that term right?), I HATE all of the annoying enemies in Minecraft, so killing them understandably makes me very happy. Also may I add that the most irritating thing ever in Minecraft is when I'm trying to chop down trees to build my house, and zombies and skeletons and other enemies attack me while I'm doing that and gang up on me so they kill me and I have to respawn and have to literally walk all the way back to where the tree was I was cutting down? Ugh......

Anyway yeah LOL. I hate these enemies so much in Minecraft. What are some of your Minecraft enemies you hate the most? Can anyone relate to all of this? 😆

My thoughts on your list:
  1. I agree with this, Skeletons are super annoying, although as Waluigi Time rightly mentions shields help a lot.
  2. I disagree, Spiders can be slightly annoying since they're fast and can climb walls but since they're big (I don't think they can fit through 1 block vertical gaps, or fall through 1 block holes, plus being big makes them easier to hit) and have less health/attack power I don't usually find them a big issue. Now, Cave Spiders on the other hand, those do suck, because they're smaller and can poison you, but you only find those in Abandoned Mineshafts.
  3. I disagree, Zombies are slow and are relatively weak in terms of attack power and health and have no ranged attack, and they burn in sunlight, however you are right that they can be overwhelming in crowds. For me, it's the baby zombies that are really annoying because they're so fast and small but are as strong as their adult counterparts.
  4. I agree, Creepers are really annoying, and can easily kill you if they sneak up on you, or even if you survive the explosions destroy blocks and that can be really annoying.
  5. I disagree, Guardians only spawn in Ocean Monuments and those are pretty rare, so I advise just building your base away from them. I have the misfortune that in my main survival world, my main stronghold is literally directly next to an Ocean Monument so I don't tend to hang around there a lot. By the way, if you go into Music and Sound settings you can individually reduce Hostile Creatures volume level, that should help.

My list would be:
  1. Creepers
  2. Skeletons
  3. Ghasts (they only spawn in the Nether which I'm guessing you haven't reached yet)
  4. Baby Zombies
  5. Pillagers (they spawn in "patrols" every so often and are really annoying with their crossbows. They go after villagers too, and I've lost some good villagers to Pillager patrols.)
  6. Phantoms (they spawn if you don't sleep for 3 days and are a royal pain to deal with. Having to sleep every 3 days isn't too bad given my play style, but it still sucks to lose that freedom. There's also the fact that Elytra used to be repaired with leather which was easier, but they then changed it to Phantom Membrane when Phantoms were added.)
  7. Trident Drowneds (drowneds are the water zombies, and only a minority have tridents but they can deal a lot of damage from afar)
  8. Vexes (these only spawn when summoned by Evokers, who are found only in Woodland Mansions and Village Raids, both of which the player can simply avoid, but they are sooo frustrating with their quick speed, small size, flight, hefty damage, and ability to phase through blocks)
  9. Silverfish (these spawn from infested blocks that look like normal blocks, and attacking one triggers other silverfish to come out of their blocks and attack you, so they can be annoying, but I usually don't have much problem with them outside of Strongholds)
  10. Cave Spiders

Nintendo's recently released their sales figures, and one of my favourite things is this from their presentation slide:

I know it's not much but I revel in the fact that Mario Party is big enough to be placed side-by-side with the other two greats, Super Mario and Mario Kart. Mario Party is a favourite series of mine so to see it get an upgrade in how Nintendo sees it is very reassuring, not only for its popularity but for its future. If Jamboree sales were added (note that the sales were up to September 2024, before Jamboree released), it could very easily sell better than Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (at 35 million currently).

The only thing missing is comparing the series with their 3DS+Wii U games, because I want to know how well (or not) their 3DS Mario Party games did overall, since Star Rush and Top 100 didn't reach a million. Note that Kirby, Metroid, Xenoblade, and Pikmin have this comparisons so we were able to get a rough idea on how well their less-popular games like Hey! Pikmin and Kirby Battle Royale sold (the former definitely would be good to have a Switch port even if it's not popular with fans, so that every Pikmin game that's not the mobile one gets to be on Switch).

I've sustained a workplace injury from excessive repetitive motions several months ago and just now I got my CA-2 approved so that's cool. My right forearm hasn't felt the same since I first felt it all the way back in June.

I like how you're a big fan of Mario Kart Wii. I loved playing that as a teenager against my dad all the time. First Mariokart game I ever owned-first one I ever played was one they had at the orthodontist's office for the kids to play back when I still had braces (I HATED having those on my teeth lol).

Sometimes I can't tell if Brawl in the Family's depiction of Waluigi is generally a good thing or bad thing for the reputation of the character.

I guess it's good in that it's a popular webcomic so making Waluigi one of the standout characters augments his popularity, and he's kind of funny.

But it could also be bad because he is depicted as the most repulsive and unwanted thing in the world, and he also is drawn purposefully much uglier than usual as his regular depiction.

I am probably inclined to think that there is some good with it, but... I can't deny that negative influences exist.

Waluigi might be exaggerated and over the top but all his disrespect and crudeness is for humour and not a way to denigrate the character imo. It's irreverent but playful, he's the likeable jerk. It's similar to how Wario is in some of the games, such as his selfish attitude in WarioWare.

Ditto what LGM said, a character being depicted with negative traits is not necessarily a negative thing for the character's reputation. Plenty of people love characters in spite of, or even because of, their bad traits. There's a reason why villains are so popular!

It's also worth noting that a character being annoying in-universe and being annoying to the actual audience don't always overlap. Waluigi can be a nuisance to the rest of the characters in-universe, but that's okay because his antics are meant to be entertaining for the audience, not to make you groan whenever Waluigi shows up in a comic. It doesn't hurt his reputation and it's not supposed to. Thinking about comedies in general, I'm sure we can all think of characters who are entertaining to watch even though they're often irritating to the characters around them (and would probably be irritating to us if they were someone we knew in real life!).

Yeah, I think this sounds about right. The character's portrayal in the comic might make them appealing through their ignobility. Perhaps it's why Waluigi stuck out the most? I don't think any other character had this much focus for one that's "loved to hate" (at least, I doubt Wario or any villain like Bowser is treated as "love to hate" in that comic, nor did they have this much focus).

What I just thought about is another way Waluigi might be dismissed: using this comic to say that Waluigi's popularity and appeal are artificial because of the claim that Brawl in the Family did the heavy lifting, dismissing anything outside this like the games for contributing to his popularity.

Still, I think that it's good that the creator of comic has no ill will towards Waluigi (unlike a surprising amount of Smash Bros. fans), based on what he mentioned about him and how Waluigi still gets some focus like that Wallelujah song.

Hey MiracleDinner I said this on the "Hotdogs or Hamburgers" thread already but be careful; I heard there was an E Coli outbreak at McDonald's involving their "Quarter Pounder" hamburgers (or maybe they're cheeseburgers; I don't remember) so you should probably not eat those right now. Might not want to eat at McDonald's just in general for a while until they find out what contaminated ingredient(s) caused it.

I know a lot of people are feeling down currently, but look on the bright side! Mario & Luigi: Brothership releases tomorrow! That's something to look forward to!

Also, I will be playing the game once I receive it tomorrow. This means I won't be active on the wiki and seldom active on here and Discord. Enjoy the game everyone!
