  • I imagine the way Kirby works with its consistency between games and what happens to characters when they're not in a game and whatnot works like this:
Each game is like a movie or a play and each cast member plays their part based on the role they're given. Everyone's basically on friendly terms outside of the games which would explain why Marx, Daroach, Dark Meta Knight, and other villains get along fine with Kirby and friends in the Kirby JP Twitter posts.

Plus, it's generally a cool idea.

I've always thought that some franchises would work really well like this. Smash is one. Zelda wouldn't work as well with it tho.
Can anyone point me to a YouTube channel that records video game footage I could take video from? I'm specifically looking for DKCR. (I unfortunately only have the 3DS version and can't record it.)

I don't know if it's what you're looking for but MasaeAnela is a YouTuber I'm subscribed to who did a playthrough of it a few years back, it has commentary though.

Gah, wait a second, Juno Songs frequently credits a channel in his videos I could use. Duh!

Also I've now uploaded Shmaluigi's theme to my channel for more exposure. Hopefully more people will sub to SPI now.
Shmaluigi for the month is FINALLY done (I couldn't get several audio clips to work and wasted at least an hour on that, and then I took a couple breaks. Editing is a very laborious process), but it won't be uploaded until tomorrow.

In the meantime, enjoy Shmaluigi's Theme, arranged and performed by me!

Just a heads up, the WoP and SPI YT videos will be a little late today because life was crazy this week for me and I'll have to make them like, right now. (After I wake up a bit. Just got up two minutes ago and I'm not surare I'm seeeeing the keyhboard properaly.)

But they'll be up today! Guarantee that.
    Wow.

I really need to make sure I turn in all my 'Shroom stuff on time so I'm not causing the editors extra stress.
    SWITCH HAS BLUETOOTH COMPATABILITY NOW.

    ...except there's no mic compatibility.

And you can only have two Pro Controllers or Joy-Cons at the same time when Bluetooth is on. Rip.

Well, at least there's official Bluetooth for headphones, which is more than nothing.
So what are Sakurai's specific rules for a character getting into Smash?

Arms is pretty relevant as it's published by Nintendo and started on the Switch and sold very well.

    @Smash Run Paratroopa
It was relevant until a couple months after its release. Everyone (save from a few) just moved on to Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Kirby, and later Smash.

And even if it was relevant, there's no rule against non-relevant games or non-iconic games.

What if one of us gets into smash?
    WOW.

@Smash Run Paratroopa Like between an 8 or a 9 out of 10. It's definitely worth watching. And the best movie I've watched since that point after a streak of flawed movies I've seen afterwards, with Cars 2, The Accountant, Raya and the Last Dragon, and Black Widow each having flaws.

After watching Real Steel, I've picked up Punch Out!! again and I still can't beat Mr. Sandman in Title Defense.
One thing I don't understand is why ex-users seem to constantly rant about how bad the Boards are.

awdry is definitely just sourgraping the boards for getting banned over his stupid nonsense

as for blue, it's a similar thing - he's still unhappy we implemented the under-13 ban

    lots of bitterness

Blueberry Blue likey just doesn't know better, I'm sure he'll get over it once he gets older and he's unbanned
I have no sympathy awdry if he decided to mock someone who is no longer is with us
and his course of action is to be bitter over it instead of going "wow, that was really shitty, I should do something about myself"

So now he's asked me to post something he also posted on ZD.

Yo what up. It's me, Disco. I'm just making a profile post to talk about something you all probably know about by now. That, of course, is Marioboards.

Now, at the start, I definitely hated Marioboards. No doubt about it. If I was denying it, I'd be looking like a pretty big idiot. But, because of what good old Mags has said, it's really made me put it into perspective. Sure, I may still dislike parts of Marioboards, but, now I think it's just.. pretty good. At the end of the day, the people and activities there are honestly like the people and activities over here. Guess I was just so caught up in a couple of negative parts that I didn't really see the big picture.

Admittedly, I'm not looking for sympathy or backup. I did a shoddy thing and I probably deserve more punishment than I got. All I'm saying is that I don't think Marioboards is bad now. I'll take down that one meme I made, but I'm not sure I'll be able to take down the hoard of SB posts. But, yeah. Think that's all I had to say.
Can we all agree that Flint (or half the other characters out of Cloudy for that matter) don't have bones in their limbs or at the very least have ones made of rubber?
Unless I'm mistaken, MightyMario gets back tomorrow and I'm doing a theme with him. If not I'll be joining Meowkie with the WarioWare theme (maybe. Probably as Jimmy T.).

Still might wind up doing him later on. Who knows.
I seriously hope he gets into Mushroom Kingdom Smackdown this month, it'd be awesome to see him dance battle against someone.
    Holy cheese.

I literally JUST figured out, after watching these shows for 10 years, that Danville from Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy's Law was named after Dan Povenmire, one of the co-creators of those shows.
I've been in a Kirby phase for quite some time now. I'm playing through four games at the same time, actually.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (Just got it and attempting to play all the way through. Made it to world... 4 or 5)
Kirby: Squeak Squad (Same as above)
Kirby Star Allies (Attempting to clear Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go! as everyone. I've done all the Dream Friends, and now I need to do the Star Allies.)
Kirby Fighters 2 (Grinding for 100%)

So yeah. I really like the idea of not many abilities in 64, but you can combine them into even more.
Can someone help me understand why people don't like Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam as much as the other games? I consider it (and the Minion Quest games in the remakes) my personal favorites, but from what I understand, not many people like them. Why?

Haven't played it but I don't think I'll like it and FTG64 has played it and she didn't like it, for us the main dealbreaker was because it had so much potential to combine the awesome characters from the first 4 M&L games and the first 3 paper mario games, like having fawful and dimentio team up to take down the mario bros, but instead it stuck almost exclusively to main series characters barring starlow

I think people dislike it more because it didn't do what they wanted it to as opposed to what the game actually is. I personally really liked Paper Jam, the battle system using three people and different types of enemies changes things up enough to keep things fresh.

I think it's pretty much exclusively the story using only mainline Mario characters as opposed to original RPG characters being the reason as to why people don't like it much. Sure, the constant Toad Quests and long Papercraft battles are reasonable complaints, but I don't think it's as bad as say, Dream Team's length and Tutorials or Partners In Time's basic battle system.

I pretty much like games purely for gameplay and you might be the same, it's just that most others (especially the vocal part on the internet) are more interested in characters and stuff, which is fine I guess, but yeah, I think that's the main reason.

Because it wasn't full of cheap fan service like they wanted it to be. Also the toad missions and location variety are meh.
